Ok so I am currently 5wk 4d and not made an appointment to see my GP yet only because my practice has 2 GPs and 1 is on holiday now the other is the Dad of one of my daughters preschool classmates
I know he obviously isnt allowed to discuss anything but I dont think he realises yet I am a patient and would rather keep it like that to stop any awkwardness?

My other GP is takint appointments for in 3.5wks time...is that ok?

I didn't even see my GP, I just rang the surgery and said I was pregnant. They booked me in with the midwife at 7+6.

Last time i was in the process of moving to a different county (from the dr I am at now again) and they said it needed confirming....like I was lying lol

Oh weird! I don't think they do that in most places!

I didn't see my doctor I went to the family planning part and they gave me a book and a letter to send back and then It was all done to midwives or nurses x

Oh it is bound to be just my doctors..they are strange like that. It is only a small surgery and they like to know everything which is going on and my GP is one of those he is right on everything....no matter what anyone says he is right!

i phoned my doctor this morning i have appointment with doctor next week to confirm pregnancy then i see the midwifes at about 8 weeks

I am really upset with my surgery! Yesterday I called and the receptionist told me very quick that I need to register to midwife and quickly passed me the number to call. I asked to see my gp to let them know I am pregnant and for more details (I meant what supliments to take etc). However, she made some innapropriate comments and made me feel really bad.

sorry for your experience,

i never saw my GP just the midwife, she can advise you on what to take, i was told folic acid in the first 12 weeks and even when trying to conceive she even gave me the dosage of what to buy.

Midwives are far more helpful and if you need something prescribing they ask you to see the GP

hope you get sorted xx

You can book with your midwife online and not speak to the GP
