When do babies start to hear?

I know Albert can hear my voice (or at least the vibration of it apparently) but when do they start hearing voices on the "outside"? OH has been home from work about half an hour.....I've had hardly any movement all day even when resting but since OH came home Bertie hasn't stopped kicking. Dunno if he can hear OH or is reacting to the fact I am happy he's home xxxxxxxx

awwww bless him, its strange when my hubby puts his hand on my tum the baby goes mad kicking. Another daddys girl i think x

I think it can be earlier than that - plus they hear lower frequencies first - so they are more likey to react to a man's voice.

My LO can be quiet all day oh will put his hand on bump and say kick me and yup he does!!! I do it nothing!!! x
