lol! never no might not be painful for you.

I was 2/5 engaged at 34+4 mw appointment. Knew I was before I went... definite feeling of something dropping quite low down, bit more waddly.

Very common for 1st-timers to engage early apparently!

I haven't felt any pain associated, it's quite exciting but not always comfortable and I find it make sitting even harder as baby is just where I want to bend!

you'll also notice your bump lower, easier to breath and an ease up on the heartburn but you'll need to pee more and sometimes feel more uncomfortable down there.

Tia didn't engage until Labour began... she was my first... So I think it depends on the baby... This time I think little miss is trying to engage because of the change in movement and pain and heaviness I'm getting that I never had with Tia...

In my pregnancy book it says that babies usually start engaging 2-4 weeks before labour starts. Some babies don't engage until labour starts though.

I think my baby is starting to engage. For the last 4 days I've had a marked increase in pressure on my pelvic floor/coccyx and have lots of sharp shooting pains down there, which I think must be her head moving around. I also need to pee constantly and move my bowels more which can also be a sign.

When it happens you will know. It kind of feels like your baby could fall out!
