When did your baby start repeating words, make gestures and point?

I'm a little worried because my boy is now 10.5 months and he doesn't do any of that stuff, but according to sources like Wonder Weeks and What To Expect, he ought to have started by now. He babbles back when I talk to him and laughs and smiles (and complains) a lot but still no "mamma" or waving goodbye or anything else...

not sure on this as our lil miss just 5months nearly but I do know every baby different so long as you provide opportunities for them to do this they'll do it in their own time i guess....

Riley is 14 months and still has no definite words other than "ta". He didn't start that until about 2 months ago, he only started walking a month ago, is only just starting to point (although he has been doing gestures for about 6-8 weeks). They develop at their own pace so try not to worry hun.

My son was over a year old when he started to point and wave. I can't remember exactly how old. I think around 13 months. He's never really repeated stuff back, even now he doesn't and he's saying quite a few words now (22 months old). I wouldn't worry xx

My son is also coming up to 10 months and has just started babbling "dada" & "nana" He's been very vocal for a while but only last week could I distinguish anything. Still doesn't gesture, wave, clap, point or anywhere near that and still hasn't pulled himself up on anything or cruised like the wonder weeks says he should. He's only just learnt to sit unsupported and crawl. Just go with the flow Hun...I used to panic by what the wonder weeks says but now I take it with a pinch of salt. They'll do what they do when they do it...and usually overnight in my experience.

Thank you so much ladies! My peace of mind is restored :)

All babies will communicate in their own time. My mums friends wee boy is younger than Jackson and was walking and making noise before Jackson, now Jackson speaks and my mums friends wee boy has just kinda stayed at the same level. Jackson could speak but only started copying me word for word like when he turned two, now its literally everything! no word is safe in that house! so enjoy free speech whilst you can :p
