Hi hun!!

You cannot apply for Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credits until your baby is born, same as Child Benefit because you need the baby's name, DOB, birth certificate etc.

I have filled out the forms ready and just left the baby's sections blank so im all prepared.

Hope this helps!

i waited untill Dior was 3 months old as i got it back dated and i got a lump sum of money

do they do that with child tax credits? thatll be handy at this rate ill get quite a bit rang again yesterday to tell them my forms had not arrived yet and i was told i wouldnt get them untill jan now, so by the time i fill them in send them off etc and recieve them Alfie will be about 5 months old

Dior was 6months old and i was only earning pennies i had never heard of tax credits so some one gave me the number. the said they would back date 3months max. i was well chuffed and got a great lumpsum.
ild call to make ure its still the case :D
great way to save though. as i was despo for a car for us but couldnt save as every penny was going on the kids

I didnt realise that i was eligable as i was on maternity leave long term, but i saw summit on this forum about it and thought id apply and i got about £1600 backdated money that was good, so what u aint getting now you will get back when ur forms processed, i think mines was 8 months backdated XkelX
