when did u all get ur 1st scans?

when are you supposed to go for a scan? i am eight weeks pg on friday but havent even seen my GP yet. couldnt get an appointment til next tuesday. am i leaving it late? when did u all get yours? this is my first!

First scans are usually done at 12 weeks, but the midwives like to 'book you in' around 9 weeks if poss I think!

I found out early (4weeks) but was unsure of dates due to dodgy periods, so they sent me for a dating scan at 5weeks. couldnt see much tho. The normal 1st scan is 12weeks so u should get ur scan date after ur midwife appointment, which will be after ur gp lol!
8weeks is ok hun, i wouldnt worry too much, aslong as u get ur scan at 12weeks!

congrats! had a dating scan at 8 weeks and got my first proper scan and midwife appointment at 12 weeks. depends on your area really but should be 12 weeks. x

Time wise you're fine, I had my first mw app at 7 weeks - but she commented that I had been referred to her too early, I then had my scan booked in for 3 weeks later - again it was an early dating scan and I really should have been referred for the scan until 12 weeks but they had a gap so she slotted me in.

 

With my first I was referred to the midwife at 6 weeks then didn't see him (yep, him) till I was about 12 weeks again after the dating scan. This time I saw midwife at 9 weeks and not seeing her till 15 weeks again.

Booking in scans should be 12 weeks around here, liek the girls have said, but with my son I had early scns because of problems at 7,8 9 and 11 weeks. This time I have had 7 scans already at almost every week since 4 weeks because I have a few problems with my uterus.

Round here they book you in around 10-11 weeks and you have your dating scan around 12-13 weeks.

Most places are 10-12 weeks though.

I first saw m/w at 6 weeks then 9 weeks then had scan at 9 weeks and see m/w again tomorrow.

Hiya, I would see your gp asap as it can take a while for you to get a scan date. I went to my gp at about 6 weeks and got a scan date through the post about two weeks later for 12 weeks which I've just had. I won't meet my midwife until November!

Im 11 weeks and i dont have a midwife yet??!? I went the docs at about 5 weeks and they contacted the hospital i want to have my baby at. A few weeks later i got an appointment for my scan (a week today - 12 weeks)...... im yet to see a nurse/midwife yet. Is that ok??? no one else has contacted me at all.

I saw the midwife for the first time at 10 weeks, and had my first scan at 12 weeks (turned out to be 13 weeks!).

I think it varies, my midwife works from my doctors' surgery so I had to make the first appointment with her. It might be worth phoning your doctor to check if you need to make an appointment.

Ive got my booking in next thursday then they usually give you a date for your scan which is usually around 12 weeks.
