I am on talking about wine as a drink but I am trying as much as possible to give Ellie the same things we eat. When I do thinks like spag bol, stews, etc I often add a small amount of wine (about 1 glass) to the dish, which would server 3-4 people. To date I have been changing my recipes or not giving it to her. When would it be OK to give her a small portion of the dish if there is wine in it?

Thanks

when you cook with alcohol the actual cooking burns the alcohol off so in effect you are only left with the taste of the wine etc not any alcohol.

So would it be OK to give it to her now? None of the weaning sites mention alcohol.

I'd say it'd be fine especially if you only add a glass.

because the alcohol will be 'burned' off whilst cooking there wont be any actual alcohol left so you should be fine giving it to her.

The wine basicly gives flavour, as tuck says the aclohol will be burnt off. A bit like pouring brandy on a christmas pud and setting fire to it. If taht makes sense.

P.S.... I was a bit worried to open this thread... thought you meant giving you baby a glass of wine :rotfl: :rotfl:

although my mum, when she was breastfeeding, used to swear that if she had a glass of wine, we used to sleep better for it
