When can i have the coil?

When can i get the coil fitted? and how soon can we dtd?

Im crazy horny but OH isnt going there yet and not until im 100% covered -- dont fancy been pregnant again for a few years! x

I'd imagine you'd need to have your postnatal check first?

I felt oddly horny after having James, it soon passed in the haze of exhaustion though

I was told I can have it after first period but opted for implant but think I will use coil next time.

I want something without hormones because it sends me down for a few months and i dont want that when i have babies. Plus my fertility will be streight back to normal in a few years when we ttc again. (and yeh we have discussed it and there is another bear on the cards but a few years away yet) I just want it asap as i dont want to risk a condom again i want to be safe and free to do it when i want without a condom (but with the coil lol) im really keen to just get it done then its over with and i dont have to think about it until its due to be removed. x

I don't want implant again other than been allergic I hated the messed up periods, I do think my fertility came back immediately but will know for sure when I test at weekend.

ooohhhh. fingers crossed for you hun lets hope its back with avengence! Its the hormones i dont agree with and the fact it wont help weight loss and im already overweight xx

Thanks iv had three faint positives early in the week but won't be convinced until I get a thick line. I think it didn't help with my weight tho.

I went to see about a coil fitted and my gp won't do it til 3 months after I gave birth (I had a section and she wants to make sure I'm healed properly first) they like to fit it within day 1-5 of your period, and also at my gp they did swabs first to check for infection!!! Xx

I didnt have a section so maybe it will be sooner, i hope so! I miss sexy time already and its been 6 days. Can they fit it without period though or does it have to be that time? x

As far as I'm aware they can fit it without, but I was told I'd have to do a pregnancy test first as my periods are not at set times!!! X

I had mine fitted when I was off. But the doc wouldnt fit it until after 3 months regardless of the way you give birth. Also take some paracetamol before and make sure you have a pad handy as once its fitted you can bleed a little. Mines still settling down so bleeding a little every now and then and if you get cramps it can make them a bit more intense. But having no hormones in it I haven't turned into a moody bugger so its seems ok.
