whats is a re-represented cheque?

Because I got one...

I paid in a cheque for Jakes nursery for the month. On Wedesday I checked my bank account and it had been taken out that day but it had taken me £12 over my limit. I transfered enough money over from one of my other accounts and to be honest completely forgot about it.

Today the nursery manager took me to one side to say the cheque hadnt bounced as the bank re-represented it. I dont know what this means. Does this mean Im gonna get a bank charge now

My guess is that the bank paid the amount once there was enough in the account when you transferred the money over, but i think it does mean you will have a charge for it.
