My LO has just turned 6 months and suddenly now won't settle!

His been an amazing sleeper since 7 weeks, settling instantly and sleeping through but for the last couple of nights he just won't settle, out routine hasn't changed and his completely normal right up until I put him in his cot, usually I would just walk out and not hear a sound but he just keeps crying and crying.. we've made sure theres nothing physically wrong and we've even given him calpol to see if it made a difference but nope he just cries..

At the moment we are trying to let him cry it out for a little bit but he sounds distraught it's really hard!

Anyone else experienced anything similar or know what this sudden change is behaviour is??

Thanks in advanced!

Sleep regression? Developmental leap(check wonder weeks app), teething, growth spurt? Seperation anxiety? They go through so many stages and it's super hard when you've got used to sleeping! Will he sleep if you rock him to sleep? At that age I used to have to have our daughter in our bed until she was asleep and then transfer her to her cot. I know it seems like going backwards when you are already in a good routine but I usually just do whatever I can to get through the change as easy as possible and then I worry about routine after the stage is over. Have you recently started weaning xc

Thanks for your reply.. yes we've recently starting weaning which I did think could be the cause but I couldn't understand why his fine all day then just suddenly starts to cry?? I'm determined not to let him in our bed as I really don't want to go down that road but I know what you mean, I'm sure I would if I felt that was my last option. His gone down ok tonight, just a little cry but nothing like before. We tried leaving him last night and eventually he fell asleep as keep going in and out didn't seem to make a difference anyway.

I guess it's just a phase his going through
