My LO has been poorly and has had 7 mostly wet poo's today and his bum is sore.. What is best to use on it? I Usually use a really thin spread of Sudocrem but didn't know if there was anything better to use for the soreness, such as Vaseline?

My LO has only had nappy rash two or three times and I use metanium nappy rash cream and it clears it up in a day. He once had quite bad blisters (from teething I think) and I used Lansinoh nipple cream and worked a treat :) x

Thanks he's never had nappy rash yet at 9 months this is the first time he's been sore, and it does hurt him cos he cries when I change him, I wonder if Vaseline acts like lasinoh as its a similar texture isn't it. X

Vasaline is a barrier cream so will prevent not cure. My baby was very sore before being diagnosed dairy allergic nothing helped and he was so sore. My mum said to try savlon and it worked a treat. Where it's antiseptic his helps right away with with soreness 24 hours and was almost gone. It's thinner and easier to apply that sudocrem. Where that's thick it can hurt them when you apply it if they are really sore xxx

Nivea! Never fails! My mum used it on all three of us and I use it on oscar, one application over night and it's clear the next day.

Bepanthen nappy cream is the best :) ASDA do a big tube for £5, but you don't need much xx

Metanium nappy cream the yellow tube one is the best. We used it lots when James was on antibiotics which gave him really runny poos for weeks xx

I second metanium yellow tube. He takes a few days but worked wonders for Thomas. That and only use cotton wool and water as wipes can aggravate it

Sudocrem has always worked fine for my LO so never needed to try anything else. x

Metanium is brill Stacey when Macie is teething she always gets a sore bum and it's the only thing that will work for her xxx

Yellow Metanium, my son had really bad nappy rash due to teeth I tried sudocrem and Bephanium and nothing shifted it. Yellow Metanium cleared it completely up within 12 hours. Magic stuff

Weleda calendula nappy cream. It's 7,50. Ive bought one tube and its still full. If its already red A bit of it works so well.

I've only really needed sudocrem so far. I work in a nursery so see lots of different nappies and creams! metanium and bepanthen always seem quite good. Surprisingly a lot of the supermarket own brand creams are good, especially asda, and boots is good too. What works for one, won't always work for another so it will be a case of trial and error. Coconut oil is another good one to try as well, all completely natural :-) xx

I took him to the doctors today he's got a viral infection but prescribed some Hydrocortisone for his bum.. I've never had a problem with sudocrem before as I only apply it very thinly but think I might get a tube of mentanium too as it seems very popular thanks

Yellow metanium is fab for clearing up sore red areas. Only need a very thin layer though! And usually works after 24 hrs or so. Hope it gets better soon. X

Another fan of metanium here too!! Its amazing!! x
