I am little swollen at the moment but I have been moving furniture and generally
Over doing the last couple of days so I'm thinking it could because of this! I have a blood pressure machine Which I have stolen from my dad but I don't know what would be considered high?!?

Does anyone know? I don't want to phone midwife unless it is really necessary

It was 136/88 but after laying down it's now 123/72 at my 36week app it's 110/60

hmm a little bit high then, i wouldnt say it was out of the ordinary, take it again after a longer rest and if its still up there maybe just call a midwife and tell them what it is and see what they say? think thats what i would do. xx

Yea gonna have a nap and see if it's comes down I think it was because I was cleaning like a nutter moving wardrobes and allsorts! Fingers crossed it's comes down

yeah fingers crossed, all that would have had an effect on it i would think, hope it comes down! my midwife said today my blood pressure is a little high but i didnt actually look to see what it was, just checked and it was 120/80 and usually 110/60, she didnt say anything though. i was nervous so maybe that had an effect on it? x

they count the top number over 140 and the bottom number over 90 as high. they worry more about the bottom number as the top number varies with stress/relaxation anyway. they'll look at your BP from your booking appointment though and check if its risen significantly if it was very low to start with

just as a reference when i had preeclampsia mine was 160 over 110 so your quite a way off that.

Thanks tiny that helps a lot!

My bp from my booking was 90/60 as normally I have low blood pressure! I have gained quite a bit of weight so knew it would get higher!

It's down to 118/66 now so that's much better! I also had a cheeky mcdonalds last night so all that salt prob didn't help me :)

Lexi how you holding up hun?

^^ mine was low too, I think my booking was 100/58 or something. Mine did start to climb quite gradually over a few weeks so they started monitoring me more frequently then it shot up overnight (they were doing daily cos it was hovering around borderline) worth keeping an eye on it to make sure there isnt a pattern of it rising but I think its normal to go up a bit when youre towards the end of the pregnancy.

118/66 sounds perfect tho. They told me in hospital that when something like preeclampsia is pushing your bloodpressure up resting and relaxing doesnt really help. So I doubt yours wouldve come down after your sleep if it was something to worry about.

Im def getting one of those home BP monitors when I get pregnant again, I think thats a really good plan!

I'm gonna monitor it def cos I am still swollen but hoping it just water retention!

My dad has high blood pressure so Its always at the back of
My mind and I nicked his monitor - it's really handy

Also keep in mind the different types of blood preesure machines. T the doctors they use a manual one, and inthe hospital they dd it with an electric one...with me thy were getting a different reading (think it was higher) so they went off to get a manual one and got a lower reading.

So if yoir dads is an electric one, And you mw uses a manual one then the readings will be off slightly.x

I went to doctors today cos I was panicking a bit and they took my blood pressure at it was 110/74 so perfectly fine she said that the machines are not great! Also said the swelling was just one of those things which a bit of a bummer but hopefully I don't have too long left :)

:yay: glad youre well and healthy :) not too long now, you'll have your baby in your arms before you know it.
