Hi everyone,

I've not posted in this section before but I think I should be here now.....

We've been trying to conceive on and off for over 2 years now. I've had both 7 day and 21 day bloods done, an ultrasound and a hysterosalpingography and hubby has had his semen analysis. I'm baffled as everything seems to be ok but still we aren't falling. I've not had even a hint of a BFF.

My next appointment with my consultant is on Thursday 22nd May and I'm just not sure what to expect really. What comes next? I was just wondering if any of you have had similar or could tell me what's likely to come next? It's been 3 months since my SALP and hubby's semen test so this appointments been a long time coming!

I'm 35 and this would be our first baby. They have found a small fibroid but they don't think that that is causing any problems.

Arh so frustrating :wall2: x

Hi Hun, I know exactly how you feel I could've written your post myself!

Do you have a regular cycle? We have just recently had progress in the last six weeks after a full year of tests and re doing tests, we've finally been given a diagnosis and treatment (pcos and clomid)

I think it really depends on your doctors, you can spend ages speculating and going crazy but no one knows what's going to happen until it happens, does that make sense? I know what it's like to want to know though!

From what it sounds like in your post you appear to have "normal" test results? And you don't seem to be leaning towards any particular diagnosis? (Ie I 'knew' I had pcos before they diagnosed me because I fit a lot of the symptoms but they still did every test going to rule everything else out) maybe they are doing the tests to rule things out still at this stage.

It will probably be a chat with your doctor next week to go over everything, they may have found something and want to discuss that with you.

Sorry I couldn't be much more help I just didn't want to read and not post x

Thanks MrsWilson, the docs haven't been too helpful in explaining what comes next and what they're testing for. I'm under the hospital now but not sure if i'm under the fertility specialists or just gynacology. I'm hoping that hubby doesn't need to come to this appointment, as he can't get time off work being a teacher.

Well my cycles are pretty regular between 24 and 28 days (usually 25/26) and the tests have come back that I do ovulate. I was temping as well which confirmed this. My periods aren't overly painful (apart from the odd month here and there) but I do get light cramps throughout my cycle and I spot brown blood a few days before AF.

Glad you have finally got your diagnosis and now on the road to getting your BFP!! x

I am with gynacology but I had to go to the reproductive medicine department for the tests, I am under a consultant in the gyny department though.

It's really strange that everything "appears" normal but it obviously isn't! hopefully you will get your answers in 3 days x

I'm under a consultant too. This will be the second time of seeing him so sounds like I'm in the right place :) Thanks for your help! I will just wait and see how Thursday goes now x
