when i had my 20 weeks scan was told "we not 100% sure but we think its a girl" so i thought it a girl so wen i told my midwife she sed i cant go by a maybe so put it as i dont kno. she sed she saw several women in the last few week who were told the sex and had the opposite. now i went out n i have bought some stuff no pink no blue just white and creams. when i show people they say u havnt bought pink. what u think i shud do just leaave off getting colours untill the babys born or shud i go by the sonographer and risk getting pinks??
so confussed

I'd stick to neutral stuff and if you buy anything for a gril keep the tags on and reciepts so you could always take them back :-)

I'd stick to neutral if she was not really sure. Even if they are confident they can still get it wrong. Plenty of pretty starter outfits in things other than blue and pink.

Plenty of time to go buy girly stuff later I reckon. You could get a few cheapie vests or sleepsuits maybe but don't go overboard. We've bought neutral but then I don't do girly or pink anyways, so even if we have a girl, she'll not be wearing pink much at all.

We were told the exact same thing at my 20 week scan The sonographer said "I'm not 100% sure but I think its a girl, I don't see any boy bits anyway". So we've got a yellow nursery, and bought lots of white/cream/yellow and green clothes. I've also bought some denim jeans/dungarees as they are unisex.

I have bought a couple of pink things but they were in the mothercare sale so wouldn't be much of a loss if it did turn out to be a boy. I actually haven't bought much, just enough to get by for the first few weeks and when the baby is born and I know the sex for sure I can go on a spending spree!

thanx girls i cant wait to meet lil baby. loads of people r telling me im having a boy coz of the way im carrying but some people have said if u were told a girl its a girl the dont get it wrong(but i kno for sure they do ) if my instinct was anything to go by id have blue stuff lol my instinct was rite with my 1st so its just a waiting game now lol seem like i have to wait forever lol

everyone says I look like I am carrying a boy but we have had two scans- including a 4D one where they've said she is girl so I'm pretty confident :D

they've both said they are 99% sure though- if they hadn't been quite so sure I think I would have just confined myself to green, yellow and white! x

we were told ours is a girl but we only bought 3 or 4 girlie outfits just incase they got it wrong. The baby's rooms is all creams and stuff and i have a load of boys clothes in the loft that belonged to my nephew. We're pretty sorted either way.......except we have a girls name and not a boys so im hoping they got it right, or it'll be baby know name for a while!

I was told mine is a boy at the scan, I've bought mainly white sleepsuits though just in case!
I would stick with neutrals, unless you do what the others said and buy pink but keep the tags and receipts

I was told girl at two scans, at 24 and 25 weeks, the first simply said thats a girl, the second was yes definately a girl, and showed us all the lady bits... However i still worry she might be a boy. I've been keeping reciepts for big girly things i buy, so any outfits etc, i have some sleep suits and vests in pink which i'll wash prior to the birth but they were so cheap i can live if i lose that.

I wonder if anyone is ever 100% certain from scnas they're going to get what sonographer says?

all the big things- pram, nursery furniture etc is neutral because we'll want the stuff for baby two (in about ten years! :rotfl: ) but I have gone a bit crazy with baby clothes/shoes etc... there's always ebay!

x

Even though early on in the pregnancy I secretly wished for a girl I'd be devestated if he was a girl now. I had a dream the night before last that I'd had a girl and woke up feeling upset

i wasnt showed the bits thats why im not so convinced it was a quick look (although babys legs were closed) and she sed it mite b a girl
with my first they made a point of showing me the bits and explaining to me how they can tell the sex
with this one i had nothing like that :|

Yeah i am 100% sure we are having a boy, or we are having a girl with 2 ball and a willy.....lol, the sonographer gave us a detailed display of our lil mans winky.

I know how you feel hun...we went through the same thought process after the sonographer said 'maybe a girl, but don't go buying anything pink!!!' In a way i wish I hadn't have been told anything. :wall:
In the end we had a 3d scan at 29 weeks and they confirmed it was a girl. :cheer: If I hadn't have had the 3d scan i think everything would be unisex except a few outfits which I would've kept the receipts for just in case I needed to take them back.

I was convinced that if i was having a girl and I knew for definate then the nursery would be pink!! However now we know it's a girl we have just been looking around the local baby shop and decided that a totally pink nursery isn't to our taste after all!!!! I love girly stuff, but the nursery isn't going to be overally girly, just some of the clothes.

From what I can make out people don't reccommend buying loads of clothes until Lo is here anyway cos of sizes etc.

Hope you get sorted chick. :D

Oh should probably have added that although most of the clothes we've got are pink (all donated) we have done the nursery in yellowy colours and the pram and everything else are neutral. That way we can reuse them if we have a boy next.

Next! Next! HA HA HA :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl:
That's what OH keeps saying - that whilst the clothes we have are girly everything else is neutral, ready for the next one... ahhh!
