Hi all. Id love your advice please. I'm a but of a worrier and a hypochondriac and I just wondered if you thought my baby had oral thrush or not? Here's a pic

He has pale unsmooth areas on his gums and a couple if tiny white spots that have been there for a couple of weeks, is this normal?

You'd know if he had oral thrust. Looks like he's got some teeth on the way or moving around! My LO always got tiny white spots on a tooth just before it cut xx

Hard to tell 100% with the pic but I would also say it is teeth under the gums. You normally see a white patch show through the gum long before the teeth appear. If you put a clean finger in his mouth does he try and knaw on it? My daughter spent 2-3 months knawing on my knuckles before her teeth appeared lol x

Oooo there's deffo some teeth there!!!

Oral thrush is thick and white and covers the entire roof of mouth- it's nasty

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had no idea there could be teeth sitting there at one month of age. Could he be in any pain or discomfort yet?

I've just read up on Epstein's pearls and think he has these. Annoying really cos I took him to the doctors about a week or so ago thinking they were thrush and wanted to treat it before it got bad and the doctor prescribed the remedy 'to be on the safe side'. My husband asked me to wait a day or two before I gave it to him to see if it got worse and I'm glad he did now, hence my reason for asking for your opinions.

Definitely not thrush hun! The roof of the mouth is usually completely and obviously white and it's often extended down to top gums but not always. Looks like little toothies, not sure what Epstein's pearls are but either way it's not thrush!

Defo teeth there - do you remember your 12 week scan pic - the teeth were already there then :) as they come closer to the surface and start coming trhough they show as white spots - usually the surrounding gum will get a little red when they are really coming in. Babies may show signs of teething from 7-8 weeks like dribbling and fist chewing etc - but may still may not go on to get a tooth until they're more like 7-8 months! (all 3 of mine did )
