I am going to use reusable nappies, but there are so many different kinds that I am getting confused! I am planning on getting a few trial packs, but even they are pretty expensive, so any advice would be appreciated! These: http://www.cottontailnappy.com/index.php?pageid=1 look like they are good and claim to last from birth to potty, but I don't really know which features I should be looking out for.

Could anyone using reusable nappies please tell me what to look for, which brands they like and which ones they definitely do NOT like? Thanks!

Hi Moss, its a bit of a minefield isn't it? :D

Theres a great link here all about reusable nappies, worth a read

Would definately recommend getting trial packs before you shell out for a certain type as it depends on bubbas shape as to what will fit the best.

Worth noting that with the birth to potty nappies they tend to be a bt bigger and bulkier on newborns (so the room is there for them to grow into), this puts alot of people off. I went for nappies that come in two sizes (0-6mnths ish then 6mnths - potty).

Theres a fair few cloth nappy babies on the forum so feel free to ask more questions :D

I'm also going for a few trial packs to see which I like when LO arrives.

And also found this site http://www.usednappies.co.uk/

Handy if you find something you like and don't want to pay full price. Quite a few people recommended it to me.

I think its down to personal choice. I'm considering shape of baby, nappies and so on. Thickness also. I don't like the overly thick ones as this makes baby lie in a somewhat unnatural position I feel. Also depending on your babies poos. Breastfeeding and bottle feeding usually have quite different results.

I've had three makes come recommened over others so will try those first. I've also bought some biodegradable throwaways as back up for the first couple of weeks or so.

Personally I don't recommend the cotton bottoms type (using prefolds) as they leak for me. I'm using the little lambs and they are great.

Ditto. BUt so did Little Lambs, Tot's Bots....

Only Motherease wraps worked for us, with any nappy underneath. It is SO trial and error, I'd never recommend a birth to potty pac in case they don't suit!

Buy a couple of different ones and try them. If they don't work you can always sell them on for a good return :)

I'd deffo recommend Bamboozles or the like. I use bamboo ones from Lollipop nappies which are lovely.
