What is it? - diagnosis please

I have like a hot sicky burning feeling from my chest right into my throat.
Its not heartburn could it be acid? Is there any way i can get rid of it?
Not the biggest problem in the world but certainly not nice either.

sounds like acid reflux. i'm not sure if you can have rennies or not but they might work. check first.

Yep rennies are fine! Though I prefer Bisodol this time as they work better for me!

I have gaviscon here and it doesnt mention pregnant women on it, but thats for acid reflux.

right ok. anything i can do without medication? im stuck in the house dont feel like driving and we're about 10 miles from a shop. wil drinking anything help or anything?

Try milk, or what works well for me is yogurt mixed with ice and water and add sugar if you want it to taste better. Hope that helps.

Does it feel like you have something stuck there? I have a feeling this is what ive been experiencing for god knows how long! I thought it was my pills getting stuck but then changed to granuels and im still getting it. It keeps making me burp? Will it go when baby is out?

I get this, I thought it was just bad heartburn? I've only ever had it when pregnant and it went away as soon as DS was born last time. Rennies seem to do the job in the meantime.

Well ive just taken a remegel and i can feel it easing off!

My god.. ive put up with this for months and had to lie in bed with my arms stretched looking like a fool! lol

Oh hun I too can sympathise, as although I have had a few major attacks of severe heartburn, resulting in pain in my shoulder and neck its been so bad, I have recently started having the exact feeling you are describing also, and now get it about 3 times a day, especially in the evenings......

I take Gaviscon Advance, advised by my doctor, but actually find rennies work just as well and taste a whole lot better.

Havent found anything I can drink, eat etc to take the horrid sensation away, only the above!

ok great il try some of those then. Woke up this morning and have a very sore throat as if its burnt it,do you get that? but other than that the acidy, sicky feeling had gone. An hour later and its back again like its burning my chest and throat how long does it usually last?
Im off to shop to buy rennies, gaviscon and remegel !!

Well i went to bed with it and woke up with it and its now gone having taken one of those chewy remegels (tasty little blighters) You wouldnt beleive how long ive put up with this. I really thought it was my pills getting stuck!

I have 2 boxes of rennies - one upstairs and one downstairs and take them immediately I feel it coming on (Usually after eating), its generally gone within 10 mins or so with the help of the rennies.

Im not sure it would ever go completely without taking something.

Some people do find Gaviscon Advance works well too (this is what I had on prescription), but I cant stand the taste, and prefer the rennies.

well i couldnt get anything in the shop at all, but just had my midwife appointment and she's prescribed me some gaviscon but there was no doctor to sign it so i have to wait until this afternoon. she did say it was heartburn though which i didnt expect to be honest, thought it would be acid or something.

Im lucky really i know a lot of pregnant women really seriously suffer with heartburn all the way through so i think i've been lucky to only get it this late on.
Its back again really strong now though and have to wait until 4 to be able to treat it.
Its making me feel really sick and putting me off eating.

a lot of people will tell you to avoid milk hun as it makes them worse but i find it helps loads if i cant get anything else it eases it a little while you wait for the medication to work ive tried just about everything now and im finding rennies the best different things work for different people last time i was pg i got on ok with gaviscon and peptac liquid but they dont work for me this time hope your feeling better soon xxxxxxxx

woohoo i finally got my prescription. i also bought some remegel and rennies and i can feel them easing it slightly. (tried the remegel first) they kick in really fast i just hope they keep working
