What formula to use?

I am planning to try and breast feed but bottle feed aswell. Was thinking about getting some formula in the next few weeks (trying to get organised) but not sure which one to go for, was thinking SMA or cowandgate as you can get them everywhere. Does anyone recommend any?

I used sma with my son, but some one months ago put a post on here sayin her baby didn't settle or sleep well on it, n my first was a bit of a night mear so she said she's put bubs on cow&gate n baby settled straight away n slept better


So I'm like u trying breast but don't hold high hopes, n I'm taking a pack on ready made bottles to hoz with me n they r cow n gate

I was wondering this the other week, what one do i choose.. my daughter was on nutriprem 2 (premature babies milk) till she was 3months then went on sma and i never had any problems at all!

I will most likely stick to sma again but there is alot of choice now!

With me first a used sma but baby never setlles me health visitor told me try aptamil was best ever but in our hospital they provide milk bottle and choice cowherd or sma so how would u go about this x

I think its a case of waiting and see what works for your baby. I wanted to use aptimal but my LO was crazy sick with it so moved onto sma. After a few months of that I realised it was the formula not settling with her that was making her ill and switched to Hipp and she's been on that ever since. Id say get some of the premade ones in and see how you go

i agree with melio. i gave my lo aptamil but it made him reallllyyy constipated and generally very sicky. i changed him to cow&gate which worked well but he was feeding like crazy, i switched to cow&gate hungry which worked really well. i wouldnt stock up and bulk buy yet, just wiat and c how your lo reacts first!!!! =)

They used to supply the bottles at mine hoz to but u have to take ur own now they no longer do

N ur hoz prob still do but just double check coz I was sure they scrapped em x

No they defo still do here in hospital a will be giving birth in so either cow gate or sma what u suggest was gonna try cow gate this time for change has any used it thought was good or do u think sma better? X

I'm planning on trying aptamil if the BF doesn't go to plan lol.. Just got a few of the ready made ones to see how it goes though
