... Daphne?

It sounds quite nice when i say it, i pronounce it more Daff-ni rather than Daff-nee.

Not very common at all and although slightly American-esque i think nice... although hubby wasn't too keen and placed it 4th in the baby girl list - not a no, not a yes.

I like it. I knew a girl called Daphne at primary school and I always thought what a nice name it was. She was nice too which probably helped matters

It's not very common but I think it's cute yet sophisticated. Gets the thumb up from me :smug: x

I like it (I like Daphne on Frasier!) sounds like a pretty little girl in a floral dress (I don't know why) xx

wow 100% like, that's a record for one of my names ;)

It's def nice Louise. If it goes nicely with your surname I'd put it near the top of your list :cheer: x

I think of that group Daphne & Celeste who sing that song "oooooh stick you, your Mama too and your DADDY!"

And Daphne in Scooby Doo :-) x

oh thanks, I have that in my head now

I also thought of Daphne of scooby doo and Daphne who was in neighbours about a million years ago  x

I'm in two minds about it. I also think of Daphne from frasier and she's sweet. Is it a French name?

I definitely think of Scooby Doo when I hear that name.
I do a great impression of Scooby too! :p

It's a lovely name. xxx

It makes me think of the old lady from Eggheads :) then Scooby Doo. Nice though. All names initially remind me of someone but if for example I met someone's daughter called Daphne it would then just remind me of them.

I could only think of Scooby Doo, oh and the lady in Fraiser (who is slightly annoying?) :)

Hiya. Thats so funny you came up with it, my husband added it to our list when we found out this time!

Unfortunately I already have a friend called Daphne. One of my posh horsey friends and we all call her Daffy. But it works well with her 3 barrelled surname

I personally think its lovely, really classical. To me its an elegant greek goddess (or was she a wood nymph?) anyway, its got elegance because its a really old name but not used that much.

If I had to think of famous Daphne's then Daphne De Maurier comes to mind first, then Daphne from Neighbours (gives away my age!).

I temper Daphne from
Neighbours and I'm still in my twenties (just) lol x

Good greif, didnt she die in the 80's?

I remember she was married to Des and he was devastated. I think she'd just given birth to a baby. Was it called Jamie? Not sure

I remember Des but not the baby, or her dying :oooo: they lived in Karl kennedys house didn't they? Like before the kennedys lived there Obvs lol

In Scent of a Woman he calls the Air Stewardess Daphne 'cos she's English and wears a Floral perfume (Yardley, I think).
