What do you do?

Im a full time mum :) problems with my kids 'dad' left us in a hostel and no money/work so i had to be on benefits for a long time :( quite embarrassing really but we had no other choice.

not embarrassing :shakehead: my dad left my mum when we were little and she had to go on benefits and i can tell you, as i know better than anyone, she is the best mum in the world!!!

xxxx

Only embarrassing coz alot of people frown on benefits and stereotype people.. My mum had to go on IS when my dad left and it really helped our quality of life :)

I may be doing some pregnancy shoots when I'm a bit bigger but it's tfp.. Still, get to have pics of my bump :D xx

I've been offered a fair few tfp maternity shoots but can't afford the travel to where they want me to go :( I have a friend, who is a tog, that lives pretty close to me and he has been pestering me to do a Demi Moore style shoot. I'm not really into it as I think it's been way over done already but we have been mulling over a few more original ideas and some of them sound like they will be awesome if they work! Waiting to get a bit bigger before we try though but I am really excited already! xx

I done a Demi for my sister when she was preg with my niece :)
I've also got some ideas for a beautiful nudeish preg shot :) I'm debating doing it myself.. I have a few tog friends I can do it with but unsure if I'm comfortable enough.. Will see when I'm bigger.. I'm a dab hand at photoshop so a bikini wouldnt ruin the shot :D

Oohh I'm on MM too 'Kyia Rose' can't think of my id off hand I'm on my phone I'll have a look when I'm at the comp :)
Only got a few pics on there atm theres more on my flickr page Kyia Rose but that's just my modelling page I've a separate page for photography thats under maintainance atm :)
Anyone feel free to add me on either :)

Great thread - really interesting to hear what everyone is doing! I am a nurse on a mental health ward, usually really like it but am struggling now that I'm pregnant. We are chronically understaffed, so you are on your feet all the time and can count yourself lucky if you actually manage to get a half hour lunchbreak within a 12 1/2 hour shift, more often than not you don't even get 5 minutes for a cup of tea during a shift. My colleagues are really nice and I'm sure would be more than happy to give me an easy time, but with the staff shortages we're having it is just not possible. Feel rubbish all the time and am literally counting the shifts I have left until materity leave. Sorry, this turned out longer than intended...

Jayceesmumma, I added you just now :friends:

Ah that sucks :( glad they are supportive of you though.. Not long now!!

I'm an admin assistant for an advertising agency. I love my job. Casual work clothes so jeans and jumpers etc. I like working as it keeps my mind busy. Otherwise I'll just start thinking about baby stuff that i so want to buy now that im past first trimester!

I LOVE my job!!!

I run the office in the local Police Dog Section!! We cover 2 force areas, lots of lovely doggies shame about their handlers!!!

I work 3 days a week and I don't ever want another job!!!

OH works down the corridor as a Traffic Sgt so we often bump into each other if he's on shift which is lovely.

Aah it's great fun is it not! Getting all nuddy with nature lol! You're not that far at all, well I've travelled further for a shoot anyway :) I will hopefully be getting back into it after baby has arrived, not straight away but if you'd be up for a shoot.. so would I! :D xx

Always up for a shoot! Are you on Model Mayhem by any chance? We could keep in touch there x

I was, but my account got hacked by a jealous ex friend who didn't like the fact that I was doing better than her, she ruined my account completely and my rep on there was badly damaged so I cancelled my account and moved permanently over to PureStorm. I don't suppose you're on there as well?? xx

It really is awesome to see what everyone does, such a varied group of jobs! Got women from all walks of life on here! :D

I agree! PS is more UK based than MM as well, though you will find more glamour and adult on there, it's easily avoided!

Spent years in London as a Secretary/PA, then spent a bit of time in sales. Nothing seemed right..

When I was told I couldnt have anymore children (I have 1) I decided it was time to start work. I got a job in my local pharmacy 1 day a week. Found out that I could do years of training to healthcare assistant and possibly move onto being a dispenser...I LOVE IT. I was there 2 weeks when I found out I was pregnant ! they were really good about it. I dont talk about my pregnancy in terms of aches and pains as Ive only been there 3 months...you can moan with people youve worked with a long time but not new people hey. Its hard work, on your feet all day, but I get regular breaks and its a change from being mum and wife which is also a job I love. TBH I am really lucky that I have a great life now. Great thread

I really need an office job, or to get back into Wedding Planning (Which I had to give up when we moved recently). I've gone back to being a full time writer whilst looking for a job, but I have to get a real job soon as otherwise I'm not going to get any maternity and I dont count as self employed either, its a bit of a crap look out for authors tbh, especially as there is no guarantee that if i finish the book i'll even get it published. Also my husband really resents me being at home 'writing' because he cant see that I've done anything whilst he has been out at work all day, which causes a bit of friction!

I think it must be so rewarding to be a mw.x

I work for an Asset Manager in London, I look after institutional clients who pay us to look after their pension funds. I get to sit down all day, thank god, but still really struggling with morning sickness. Haven't told anyone at work the news either, am waiting for Nuchal scan blood test results and, for some reason, just don't want to say anything - not sure why. I guess in a way I feel a little guilty that I'm going to leave them in the lurch... Stupid I know
