I'm a personal assisitant within the motorways department of the Government and also deal with compensation claims, parlimentary questions, ministerial correspondance, and road traffic acts. i'm a civil servant. I will be on maternity leave for 11 months from Sept 30th.

I'm the secretary to general manager in a golf club! Not as glam as it sounds! Full of old men that call me 'toots' lmao and my boss who is never wrong it's always someone else's fault!!!! I was asked for my matb1 when I told her I was pregnant lol!

Thats an excellent turn of events! I wonder how many people do full-time HR when they really wanted to be artists

I look after my little boy Jasper who is 1 year old (well, he was on Friday) by trade i am a photographer and studied for 2 years at The Salisbury School of Art and Design, which i loved.

I imagine i will stay off work for a while now that i have another child on the way! enough to do at home i think...

I am temping working in a retail recruitment consultants. Normally I am a mobile beautician but getting some extra cash. They have been sooo good about the baby but to be honest im not doing much that I cant continue to do!!

Im so tired all the time atm......one of the other receptionists is leaving in 2 weeks.....I know they are going to ask me to work 4 nights (take her 2 nights) but they can p**s off! I wish I had the cash to start my maternity leave on the 7th Aug!

That's ridiculous hun. If they have a policy, you're entitled to see it! I can only imagine they've nothing in place and so don't deal with maternity enough to answer your questions! (not that I'm an expert, my service is 98% tradesmen lol).

They should absolutely answer your questions. I don't think we get a mat b1 until 20 week scan so it's totally unreasonable to expect you to wait that long for information.

Im a full time mum problems with my kids 'dad' left us in a hostel and no money/work so i had to be on benefits for a long time quite embarrassing really but we had no other choice. Luckily over the past 7 years ive been working my way up to a nice 2 bedroom house in a decent area finally
Ive been doing part time work as a photographer and a model (nothing dodgy lol) and was building up my portfoilio to be a full time photographer while the kids are at school all day-ellie starts reception all day in sept.. baby wasnt at all planned so kinda gutted ive had to put that on hold for another 3 yrs.. (ive brought my kids up myself with no help not even from parents so i couldnt have anyone look after them and i couldnt afford childcare even if my girls would go.. they were very clingy to me and struggled to get them in preschool/nursery) hoping with this one as its dad is so much better than the girls, ill have more support in getting my own career going.. i know his mum is VERY excited about baby and asked to have it overnight from when i was only 8 weeks a bit much imo, so a bit unsettled about that but im sure everything will work out.

I work in sales in an electronics company (I quote customers for us to build printed circuit board assemblies - the green boards with components on in electronic devices ).

I used to do that in the family business! Not the selling bit mind, more the general dogs body/jack of all trades while my mum did the important stuff lol

I'm now a civil servant for dare I say it.........the job centre >< dont all beat me at once!!
