Hi,

Just a nosey thread, I wondered what everyone does for a living and how they're getting on at work? I know from ttc and tri 1 what some ladies do, but there are so many ladies in here I don't know well :)

I work in HR, but am service based, so not within the actual HR department. Tbh I feel so lazy at work atm. I really cba!

I am a receptionist in the morning and cleaner in the evening! I am off on sick at the moment & would love to be able to give the cleaning up! Especially when bump is here :) x x

I work in retail and i really can't be bothered either. I might want to make more of an effort if my manager wasnt so horrible :( it's a mobile phone shop so its quite high pressure sales :/. They havnt provided me with a chair either. I've been to see my doc this evening though and he's given me a note to request that i do lighter duties and suggested they should give me a chair. Will hopefully give them a kick up the backside :)

Ah that's rubbish Rachael! Get on to your HR department hun.xx

I'm a HR Manager and work is always mentally busy!! I'm finding it really draining at the minute and can't wait for 5pm everyday!! Roll on maternity leave!!

Sorry to trash your thread Olive, but seems as you work in HR (and tiggy) could you answer this for me please?

Can you withhold giving information out to a pregnant worker until they give you the 'Mat B 1' certificate?? Everytime I have been to our HR to get info regarding leave and so on, all they say is 'when you bring the Mat B1 certificate in, we will discuss it then'.............Grrr! I have to keep finding what bits of info I can on the web! x x x

I'm a Therapy Radiographer, so I do loads of walking, moving patients and equipment so it can be quite tiring. Plus we're working extended days at the moment to work a 9day fortnight so I'm even more tired than normal! Everyone I work with is being really good and letting me sitdown and moving some patients for me but I feel a bit useless when that happens! x

That seems really unreasonable to me! What kind of information do you want? Do you have a maternity policy in place?x

That's what I want to know! I don't think they do but then again, they pay sick pay! I have found out that I am the first pregnant lady there! I mainly wanted to know if I go on maternity leave, would I have to return to work? If so how long for? But if they don't pay maternity pay, I could claim maternity allowance, but with the government paying that and not work, would I have to return? Thanks x x

Mrsmc is a therapy radiographer too its quite a small world in radiotherapy!
I'm glad they're being supportive I just want to stay as active as possible for as long as possible. We get some many gifts of chocs and biscuits from patients that I'll eat a few too many and put on far too much weight . It happened to a colleague!

Lilmoomin I hope you get things sorted soon x

I work in sales in an electronics company (I quote customers for us to build printed circuit board assemblies - the green boards with components on in electronic devices ;) ).

That's ridiculous hun. If they have a policy, you're entitled to see it! I can only imagine they've nothing in place and so don't deal with maternity enough to answer your questions! (not that I'm an expert, my service is 98% tradesmen lol).

They should absolutely answer your questions. I don't think we get a mat b1 until 20 week scan so it's totally unreasonable to expect you to wait that long for information.

xxxx

I was told by one of the girls that there isn't anything in place that she is aware of but knows they are supposed to be putting it together, doesn't help me though! I was told 21 weeks for the Mat B1. Will check that link out, thanks :) x x x x

I'm a full time computer geek. :-/
