HI All, so i have started thinking about what im going to need to buy for my baby and ive done a bit of research but to be honest as a first time mum im so overwhelmed by everything thats out there.
What is a must have and what is just nice to have
what are the best brands

I dont even know where to start

You will need something for a newborn to sleep in. So a moses basket or a crib and bedding. A pram or a travel system which is the pram, pushchair and a carseat. My advice would be to go into a shop and try what's bests for yourself . I used the angelcare sensor pad and I will be using it again . Clothes but don't go to mad on smaller sizes as they are really not in them that long. A selection of different make nappies as all babies are different and what fits one might not fit another.

Travel systems are a good buy but definately go into the shops and have a play.
I buy nothing but 0 to 3 on clothes to begin because even if they are a little big they will grow into them.
Have you thought about feeding and if you would need anything for That?
Newborns don't really need much x

Oh I totally get that feeling! With my first I bought loads! However in my experience all you really need is:
A safe sleeping place
Bottles/ steriliser
A baby bath
Some clothes but not loads (my son didn't even get a chance to wear some as was too big when born!) Just buy 0-3 If you need smaller, you can pick some up in asda etc easy!
A bouncy chair is also a good safe place for when they are a little bigger and made having a shower easier as I used to put him in there in the bathroom so I knew he was ok while I had a quick wash
Monitors
Pram/car seat

Honestly though you think you need loads and I would just say keep in mind supermarkets are 24/7 these days, if there is ever anything you need you will get it :)
Take care xx

That's a great point Re supermarkets. We're literally going to stick to the must haves and that's it.

It’s really overwhelming isn’t it! So much info out there and opinions and what one person likes someone else doesn’t!
So far we’ve bought a crib and one cute outfit and know which travel system we want. We’ve also been given bottle steriliser, formula making machine thing, jungle gym and some knitted blankets. Other than buying a monitor, bathing/changing bits and some clothes I feel we are ok...but who knows! As someone else has said as supermarkets are open pretty much all the time and we have amazon prime so can get most things pretty pronto!
