Hi

So I am on the IVF waiting list and ours is 2 years long...

I don't ovulate and therefore do not get periods. As I have PCOS, I used to use the contraceptive pill to control my symptoms. Having not been on it for over a year my symptoms are awful and the thought of not having a period and having these symptoms worsen is not healthy for body or mind!

Was wondering what you did during this time. I know most continue to TTC and some get lucky. But my chances of that are super low so I'm not sure if I should be going back on the pill to help me keep to a cycle or is it reasonable to keep taking provera every 40days to get a period? xx

I had a 2 year waiting list for treatment and didnt ovulate either. I had tried clomid and letrazole with no luck. I didnt get any symptoms right enough . I had no chance of getting pregnant so had to just wait it out.

Are you taking the provera to relieve the symptoms or is it making you ovulate? Is there a chance that you could get pregnant?

I've tried clomid and it didn't work, letrozole is making me ovulate but not pregnant so far so of course, that means straight to IVF .

I'm just taking the provera to induce a period. I didn't take the letrozole this month as I've been referred for a HSG but of course there's a waiting list for that too so, as I don't ovulate, I didn't get AF and had to take the provera to bring it on.

I don't think it's healthy to wait two years with no period so I guess my only option would be taking provera or the pill?

Hi,
Ours is Male factor so during our wait we still 'tried' but not as obsessively as we had been during prior to being told that we needed ICSI. The waiting was the hardest bit I found as I just wanted to get on with the treatment, to make the time easier to deal with we spoilt ourselves with lots of nights out, holidays and what we called 'child free' time looking back it was a time that I look back on fondly I just wish that I knew at the time that roll on 2years time I would be sat here 33 weeks pregnant :-)
I wish you all the luck in the world xx

I had no period for over 2 years but because theres no ovulation then there is no lining to shed so really no need for a period. In the 2 years I had no af I cant say I didnt constantly hope that I would have a wee mirical bubs but I tried my best to do as the above person said and just enjoy all the things I could do because I wasnt pregnant. However in honesty as in total i was 4 years trying that novelty did run abit thin.

I read on infertility and improved my lifestyle by eating healthier and loosing my excess weight. This was all worth it in the end as my treatment wass successful and I had an extremely easy pregnancy as I was the healthiest Iv ever been.

If the letrazole makes you ovulate and they are happy to let you take it then its still a chance. I would have liked even the slim chance that it may work so I would go for it. Ultamitely though its your choice.

I wish you all the luck!!
