Just wondering what ages people started introducing a potty or start to potty train, my friend always sat her baby on the potty after a meal from the age on about 1 month old!!

Any methods you used?

I don't think I will bother till Damien shows he wants to, like taking his nappy off etc.

I started potty training Jess when she was 2. Can't remember if it was much before that when i first gave her a potty but we did it propally at 2. She was dry then for starting nursey at 2 and half.

I started both my girls when they were 2. I wanted to get my first dry before i had my second which was two months after she had turned 2 and she did it  xx

I started with Emily between 18 months and 2 years
Big mistake i will wait longer with Jack

My freinds little boy who is same age as Em started after her and picked it up a lot quicker

i think each child is differant

My mum told me the other day that she started potty training me as soon as I could sit unaided and by the time I was one I was out of nappies  Am very impressed

i was talking to my friend about this. her baby is 16months and can make it to the potty most of the time. she said she has been sitting her on it from when she was tiny. when she took her nappy off she sits her down on it and she got used to it so now feels like it is normal to use the potty.

i have no idea when im starting yet though!

hmmm i was wondering about this too, i might buy one soon and try to get him a bit used to it! will give him lots of no nappy time and as soon as he starts peeing ill wizz him on the potty!!!

I think you should wait till yor child shows an interest in going my daughter was out of nappies by the age of 2(2 and half ish at night time) mainly because I worked at a playgroup and she came with me , she watched the other children use the potty and she wanted to try it.
I also think(if child is ready) that if your going to do it, just do it, buy loads of cheap pants and not these pull up things as they dont know when hey have weed and they feel; too much like a nappy. There will be accident but they will soon feel how uncomfy it is.

My mum did the same Kina, i was about 14-16 months out of nappies i thinks! She too reckons its not too early to start once baby can sit up.

im not going to bother with Dior. my friend her daughter is 2 and a half she hasnt started yet :?

but i think that if its something that you make such a big deal about then baby will see it as a chore. im just hoping when Dior goes nursery she will want to copy the other kids herself, eg she never eats fruit. we went to toddler group this week all the kids ate fruit so Dior did to. now all she wants is fruit as she sees it as "big girl food"

i started potty training my oldest at 18 months, and before she turned 2 she was completly dry (day and night), my other little girl tia whos 21 months does not seem interested at the moment so ill probley wait a bit longer with her.

next summer i will start to slightly introduce it ie sit him on the potty etc and also wen its nice let him run round with out a nappy

I guess I'll start trying when Lydia can walk better. I don't think she'd have a clue if I started trying now.

I havent started yet. I dabbled with it a few months ago but she wasnt interested in the slightest so I backed off. We will do it at xmas if she seems more ready, give her time to get used to Joe.

I heard their sphincter (sp  ) muscle isnt mature till about 18 months - 2 years which means they arent sure what they have done. They know they have done something but wether its a 1 or 2 they arent sure. Sometimes Jess will say ' i done a jobby' and she will think she has but it will have been a big pee. I tried to get her to say something more ladylike but it never happened.

i was told that some nurseries /playgroups wont accept kids unless the are ou t of nappies. so was just seeing what age people started, as Ewan will go to playgroup around 2yrs old so i'll need to start trying next summer!
