We've got a name dilema!!!

Ok me and DH have always had our girls name chosen out for the past 3 years but we've never got around to choosing a boys name.

We were talking about it last night and my DH has decided if we have a boy he would love it to be named Jack Daniel Hollingsworth.....after his favourite tipple!!

Personally I think it's quite a nice name, just wish it wasn't named after the drink!! ......my only concern is the fact that Jack is supposed to be a really popular name.

After having a good long think about we both realised that we dont actually know anyone who has a son named Jack!!

My question is......how many Jack's do you know??? Is it as popular as everyone thinks it is?

Its VERY popular where I am, every little boy around here seems to be called Jack I love the name so I can understand why everyone wants to use it

I only know one Jack but then all the kids i know are age 9 . I think that if you like the name just go for it

I dont know any little boys called Jack in Ireland or Spain, but I guess that doesnt really help you much...?

I love that name, it probably is a popular one but I don't know anyone called Jack. My boys name has been used by all the celebs recently but I'm still going to use it if it suits bubs when born (and if its a boy!)

i love the name Jack! i suggested it to my mum other week and she was like noooo its way to popular! but i dont care whats popular and what isnt, if its a name you both like - go for it!

That's my problem....whenever you suggest the name Jack, everyone always says how popular it is but then most people don't actually know many Jacks so it can't be that popular!!

I've just spoken to DH and he's decided that Jack Daniel is his number one choice........so Jack it is!

I only know a couple of little Jack's, one who's 6 and one who's just a few weeks old. Lot's of old men around here called Jack though, to be honest I think it's always been a popular name and quite rightly too as it's a nice one! If you like it hun go for it!

Jack is our boys name choice. We're having a girl so it'll have to wait though. Lol.

I think it's a gorgeous name and i don't care how many there are out there! My cousin is called Jack and my grandad was too! I just love the name!

p.s. I think Jack Daniel is a really cute combination! hehe

i have a friend with a cat called jack!! but i dont know many children! i know a couple with middle names of jack!
i think if u like it go for it, because if its currently popular in schools these things tend to go in phases so it maybe less so in schools in a few years than now

Think we have a solution to it now, but still a bit hung up on it.

My nephew is 6 and has 3 Jacks in his class at school. x

Personally I have said no to it twice because of popularity (hubby really likes it) but thats because I wanted something a bit more unique, however I know people who have chosen it because of its popularity and he would be less likely to be bullied for a wierd name.

Its a good strong name (isnt that a funny saying!!)so if you love it I would go for it as you are going to have to shout it ALOT when LO starts running about!

It's a very popular name as somebody has mentioned it's been the top name for boys for the last 13 years. So there is going to be an increased chance of there being a few Jacks in his class if you have a boy BUT it's a lovely name and if it doesn't bother you that it's a popular name go for it.

I have a cat called Jack otherwise, our son may well have been named Jack

I have to say that as long as you feel comfortable with the name and when he comes looks like a Jack then go for it.

Everyine has pros and cons for every name.... I like Milo and Subastian for a boy but everyone else hates them... but at the end of it I am going to b the one giving birth so will get final choice hahaha
