Had my Dr's appointment today and she confirmed that there is indeed a bun in my oven Am having my first antenatal bloods done on Sat morning and am also popping the folic acid and iodine tabs she prescribed.
I'd been taking a prenatal supplement anyway but she's replaced them. I knew about folic acid being important for neural tube development etc but iodine is a new one for me, never took it with my first little man - apparently it's involved in brain and thyroid development....so there you go you learn something new every day!
Anyway, now at least I can begin to get the ball rolling - next step....pick a midwife. Dr gave me a folder with all the midwife details for area, bits of info about them all etc - it's up to me to choose one. Best thing about the NZ system is that the midwife you choose, is with you all the way through, delivers the baby and then does 6 weeks of follow up visits at home with you too.
Almost forgot - EDD - 16th December
