Well I went to the docs

Do you feel she is ill or just being fussy? Poor wee gal, and poor you. It's so exhausting the first few weeks x

I think she's ill.

Something is preventing her from sleeping properly. She used to sleep in the day time for a couple of hours at a time but now she won't sleep at all for longer than 10 mins or so without waking up. She coughs and splutters and then wakes.

I've tried several times to get her to sleep this evening and she just keeps waking up.

The basket is elevated, she is swaddled, has been fed, has had the gaviscon, has a clean nappy and is exhausted yet she still won't sleep.

Ah hun :( Does it help if you sway/rock her in your arms? Have you tried a dummy? I think maybe you should take her in to get checked over just to put your mind at ease. Xxx

I daren't try a dummy after the feeding problems we had yesterday, though they may have been linked with a growth spurt. Will ask the Hv tomorrow.

She's been to the docs 3 times now and has a paed referral so I'm praying it doesn't take ages cos I can't deal with the lack of sleep for much longer.

If she persists and the crying gets really bad I'm going to a&e and demanding those meds.

Definitely keep going back to docs, or phone nhs 24 and get an appt through them for hospital. It's crap they are making you wait for peads appt.

Mummy knows when something isn't right and unfortunately it can take a few times of pestering for them to take you seriously, but it's not good for Tilly and not good for you not sleeping. Poor wee soul. Can't think of any other suggestions of what it could be. Has she settled down with the feeding? It's shit you have been left like this, the first few weeks are so the hardest and scariest and hearing baby being sick is just going to make you ill with worry.

Pester pester pester the docs/hospital till you get proper seen to

I'd defo try and get seen ASAP. Is it worse at night? Would it be worth going to A&E at night so they can see?

She's slept for 2 hours there tonight. Which is something, this is usually when the fun and games start after this feed though. Quite often I can't get her back to sleep now and we have all of the grunting etc

Fingers crossed tonight is diffetent

Hope she goes back to sleep and was just having a grizzly few days x

Thank you lovely ladies xxx

I hope I have nothing to report For the next fee hours.

I'm trying something different tonight so here's hoping lol

Was hoping for a bit longer out of Tilly chops but small steps I guess!

She's slept a couple of hours but she's messing around on my left boob again :( gonna get the health visitor to sort that out later if she can.

I wonder why she does it?! It's almost as of there is no milk coming out. She's getting angry and dragging the nipple and shaking her head whilst attached

have you tried a different postion with her? try the rugby hold

When Harry is tired it always seems to take him a minute or so to latch on

His head goes back and forth and his tries to shove his hands in his mouth or kneed ny breasts with his hands but once on he does settle

Like you say maybe HV can help with that x

My doc has referred LO to hospital for reflux & the earliest appointment is July 19!!! I cried, so rubbish.

Henry uses to struggle with my left.

Question - The very very first feed - was it on ur left or tight? Henry's very first feed was on my right and he struggled to latch properly on my left. He still has his moments with that side but is totally fine on my right. Never had any problems that side xxx

I'm wondering if it's her shoulder hun. Is she too young for calpol? I know the first sign of things is often feeding but maybe it's not feeding that's actually the problem?

Hope you have a more settled day chick xxxxxxxx
