Wanted to put it in pregnancy chat rather than feeding section as it is more about they way I feel.

I have read all pros and cons for both FF and BF so I do understand the consequesnces.

Couple of issues I have are:
My nipple are very very sensitive (I do mean VERY)
It feels really weird to think that someone will be sucking on my nipple, I can imagine pain and discomfort already.

I am wondering if anyone with very sensitive nipples found it easy to BF.

Also wondering if I should buy formula just in case

I'm not deciding until I try in the hospital (I have now decided) so I will be buying a steriliser and powder nearer the time and if I don't use them I'll take them back. Think I will end up bottle feeding tho!

Get some formula in just in case, it will take some of the pressure off. Have you considered silicone nipple shields from boots? IMO they are a must for sensitive nipples and stop alot of discomfort x

I had sensitive nipples, especially in pregnancy, it would hurt to have shower water on them  Anyways I've been bfing ella since day one and she's over 9 months now! It was really hard and painful to start with, I would sometimes cry when she cried for a feed but I promise the nipples do toughen up! It takes a good few weeks to get the hang of it but I would definitely recommend it. If you can stick with it its the best thing I've done, I love it! I'm pretty sad that ella will be stopping soon

Dont put too much pressure on yourself.

What pinkyprincess is doing is a good idea - try it out, but get the stuff in anyway, just incase.

I tried breastfeeding, I have sensitive nipples but overall I found the experience too painfull and I wanted OH to be able to help with watching her and feeding her. BUT loads of people have great experiences. You never know til you try.

:)

Another option is to get a breast pump and bottle feed. Breast pumps, especially with sheilds, can be easier on you. That way your baby still gets all the good stuff in your milk but you don't have the discomfort if it's too much for you. It doesn't have to be breast or formula, there is the third option as well :)

Domestic that's what I want to do but was told that you don't make enough milk as expressing isn't as good as suckling?

It's not that you don't make enough it's that baby is more efficient at getting the milk out. Some ladies express while feeding, I've never managed to do that. X

I suppose if you do it every 3 h like breastfeeding it will work ok.

A friend of mine had twins and wasn't producing enough milk for both so she expressed what she could every 4 hours and topped up with formula. She did that successfully til they were 6 months old :)

I did buy bottles set but probably need to invest in a breast pump. Have breastfeeding class on Friday, hopefully they will give useful information. Thanks ladies, I am freaking out already !
