Evening all,

I came off the pill in December and started having “proper” periods in March. Since then I have gained a stone, despite not changing my diet or exercise regime at all; I feel and look bloated most of the time (to the point where someone I hadn’t seen for a while asked if I was pregnant!!) and I am having awful mood swings where I’m on top of the world one minute and wallowing in the depths of despair the next.

I feel like I’m going crazy with the mood swings and feeling really quite rubbish about the bloating and weight gain so I’m finding it rather hard to get in the mood for baby making!

Has anyone else had anything like this since stopping the pill? I’m hoping that my body and hormones are still just trying to adjust to not being on the pill anymore and will go back to normal eventually but any words of advice would be greatly appreciated 😘

Yes - pms is is horrific.
Perhaps some Angus castus or calcium supplements would help you?

It really is... I’ve been on the pill for so many years that I had no idea it was hiding this amount of crazy!
I’ve just started taking vit b6 to see if that helps lengthen my luteal phase, as well as vit d to help with the depression and iron and folic acid as well so I’ll see if they do anything before trying out further supplements.
I don’t think I’ve felt proper “normal” since stopping the pill so willing to give anything a try!

Yes, I've only been off the pill 2.5 weeks and my stomach looks and feels so bloated, my moods are also up and down. X

yup! I feel your pain! I came off the pill in 2015 and gained a stone that I just cannot shift! doesn't matter how much I work out or eat, it doesn't ruddy move! and the mood swings are just a joy... its great being a woman isn't it?

My situation is quite different to yours as I’ve never been on the pill, however, I do usually suffer from pms and since I’ve been taking my vitamin b50 complex (has 50mg of vit b6) I do feel much better. The bloating has significantly decreased and my moods are much better.
