I'm now 20 weeks..............does that mean I'm 5 months or 4.5 months?? I'm confused! :think:

What do other people say when asked. 'I'm so and so weeks' or do you say months???

I always answer in weeks and if they look at me like i have 2 heads i just say the month i'm nearest to.

Yeah me too.

Technically speaking you are actually 9 months pregnant at 36 weeks, not 40.

I was thinking about this one, obviously there aren't 4 weeks in every month. :D

a full month is more than 28 days... so use your due date e.g. dec 25th. so on the 25th of every month you'll be a month more pregnant.

so say your 16 weeks on the 12 of watever month.. then u are 4 1/2 months preggy...

30/31 days in a month not 28 (minus feb)

yep there is 10 months in pregnancy not 4, bloody trickery i say!!! lol

There are 10 lunar months, but that's too way out for most to understand :lol:
I count in weeks, unless I'm talking to someone not very smart, then I say in months. 4.5 months is 20 weeks.
But yes you are 9 months in a pregnancy, not 10 lots of 4 weeks :D

Does that make sense or have I just spouted absolute boll*cks :lol:

i class every 4 weeks as a month so it wud be 5 months to me :think:

It's a tricky one.
I really like saying months because it makes me more pregnant!
But then when I get to 36 weeks, I'll be 9 months with a month to go!!
Think I might chop and change it, depending how 'fat' I feel :wink:

weeks sounds better than months though, i feel like im further on if i say 19wks than if i say 4 mths :dance:

Surely you'll be 8 months?! :lol:

They actually work out your due date by the first day of you LMP, add 9 months then add another week, so if we get technical you are pregnant for 9 calender months and one week! :lol:

If you count every 4 weeks as 1 month, by 36 weeks you would be 9 months.............which obviously doesn't add up!! :lol:

I could do it from my due date as ebony_preggy suggested. So on the 31st of each month I will be 'so and so' months (not counting sept & Nov though as only 30th days!!)

I can't do it from my LMP as it was 17-04-06 and my DD doesn't match as I've got an irregular cycle.

Sami, if I counted (which is probably best as half way through is 20 weeks and half of 9 months is obviously 4.5 months) How would you work out the rest????

20=4.5
24=5.5
28=6.5
32=7.5
36=8.5
40=9.5

Which doesn't work out quite right either! Have I added that wrong?? I'm soooooo confused :think: lol

Probably best to say in weeks and watch the not so smart people try and divide it by 4! :lol:

Im MEGA confused now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Im just going to stick to saying weeks like I have always done, keep it simple!!

Me too. My head is about to explode! :rotfl: My OH always says I over complicate things!

Week's it is I think!

i just say 4 weeks to a month
so at 4 weeks = 1 month
8 weeks = 2 months
12 weeks = 3 months
16 weeks = 4 months
20 weeks = 5 months
24 weeks = 6 months
28 weeks = 7 months
32 weeks = 8 months
36 weeks = 9 months
40 weeks = 10 months

so when you have done 40 weeks of pregnancy you have in theory done 10 months of pregnancy right? :wall:
