Well, I started josh on pureed foods just after he turned 5 months as he showed all the signs etc. It was going well up until recently. Past week or so he really plays up when feeding him. I've tried a bit blw but no luck with that either. Just spits out food or blows bubbles with it...splattering me in the process. He seems to not be wanting all his bottles either. Normally would have 5 x 7ozs but quite often only has only 5 or 6 ozs. Should I give up on foods for a bit and try again in a week or so or keep at it? It's very frustrating but not letting it show as I know it would only make it worse.xx

Hey hun, I've had this problem with Angel. When I first started weaning she loved it, then she hated it and started doing what Josh is doing, just not eating much at all. Then she loved it again and now she's fussy again lol!! I've read that they regress a lot during this first year as it's just mainly exploring because milk is still the main part of their diet. How much milk is he usually taking? As long as it's at least 20oz it's fine xx

I'd keep persevering, just started my lo on carrot, parsnip, apple and porridge, so far so good xx

Kayla loved food when i started then went off it all completly last week now this week she is loving it again lol

id say keep going but dont force it just offer it a few times each day

Have you tried distracting him with toys/book/spoons etc?

Above all, don't worry about it and don't get yourself stressed out. I know it can be frustrating if you've made food and they waste it all but I'm sure he's just exploring that he can spit it out/blow raspberries in it/refuse to eat if he wants/put stuff in himself/be in control etc. I would just keep offering food but if he doesn't take it don't worry, just take it away - don't try to force him or pressurise him. He wont starve himself, he just obviously doesn't want to eat right now. I've found that Jax has started exploring textures now he's having lumpier food. So, I'll put food in, then he'll spit out a lump - for example a piece of chicken, then he'll put it back in himself or poke it or squidge it between his fingers - looking at it with fascination.

Jax is the same with milk - not interested in it really in the day. I always offer it to him (3 x 5oz bottles), sometimes he'll take it and sometimes he wont. He also still wakes for 2 x 5oz bottles during the night!
