Ruby is six months today so at the weekend I’m planning to start food. I was just wondering if anyone could suggest any links to up-to-date info as it’s a while since I last did this, and most of the leaflets I have date back to when I had Daisy and weaning was recommended at 4 months.

Its not a link but there is a bok about Baby Led Weaning by Gill Rapley that is excellent if you are thinking of doing that and cutting out the puree stage as LO is now 6 months and can go straight to finger foods. We are starting BLW this weekend and the book made it so easy to understand why it makes sense. I do have a link someone gave me for some brief info on it....

There is also a thread on here where people are documenting their success with it so you can read through that for ideas too :D xx

Thanks, just had a look. It's pretty different to what I've done before so I'm still undecided but I think we're going to try some banana tomorrow.

One of the things I was wondering about was how long should one take to progress from 1 -2 - 3 meals a day. I remember with my 1st baby the process was a lot slower as I started at 5 months (it was recommended from 4 months back in 2002). I really can't remember when I had Rosie on 3 meals a day but I do remember being concerned about her iron levels!

I was told by my HV to work up to 3 meals a day by 7 months old.
