My daughter is 15 weeks old, she has been on Aptimal stage 2 extra hungry milk since she was 7 weeks old anyway, after getting the go ahead from my health visitor to start the weaning process I did and last night I made her the usual 7 ounce bottle but also gave her a third of a rusk, she enjoyed it and went to sleep. She still woke for her bottles through the night (She took 2 5ozs between midnight and 5), I thought she would definitely start to sleep through with a bit of food in her tummy but no such luck. She is the baby that never gets full! Any suggestions or advice as to what to try? :wall:

I know it must be hard with sleepless nights but 15 weeks is still young and she obviously still needs the night feeds. Weaning doesn't = sleeping through.

All I can suggest is lots of stimulation throughout the day and a good bedtime routine with a nice bath and maybe baby massage?

Hiya,

I agree, weaning your baby will not necessarily make them sleep longer. Babies only sleep through the night when they are big enough and strong enough to go a long time without food.

Was your baby REALLY hungry before you started the weaning? Was she draining large bottles and wanting another in quite quick succession? If not, then you don't have to wean now. Some babies just don't sleep through. Ash didn't until he was much older.
