Get this, from the one person I told in Malaysia it turns out that here recommendations are that pineapple, papaya and CHOCOLATE are avoided in pregnancy! And they are under so much pressure to stay slim that some Malay girls wear a tight support with wooden strips in it for up to 100 days after giving birth, drink a herb mix and are only allowed tiny sips of water!! I think we have it lucky!

That's mad! Ive developed an aversion to chocolate since getting my BFP, was a choc-o-holic before, hope I like it again soon! Wonder why they don't eat pineapple and papaya?

I know its kinda odd, I did a quick search and apparently chocolate can actually help with pregnancy (whoop whoop) but does 'energise' the baby in that many people report feeling the baby move a few minutes after chocolate, whether its the sugar rush or caffeine I don't know! Has anyone else ever experienced that who has been pg before?? As for pineapple and papaya, no clue, but love pineapple so going to keep eating it! :)

How bizarre! And they probably think us equally bizarre for avoiding the foods we are told not to have. What a mad world.

weird out its so different huh! but they also completely avoid tea and coffee. I'm having trouble avoiding peanuts, cos they are in everything out here, and also randomly eggs. Meals which don't say egg, suddenly seem to have a raw egg plonked in somewhere! Keeping it quiet is getting tricky, they think I'm mad!

Aparently you only need to worry about avoiding peanuts if your immediate family have allergies or asthma, i don't really eat them, only in snickers bars hehe! And you can eat eggs as long as they are well cooked and in things like mayo and coleslaw the egg is pasturised

Good to know on the peanuts front, cos I love them and noone has any allergies in our family. Make a good high energy snack too :)
