As the title states, how can you tell if your waters break while you're in the bath? I am constantly worried that it will happen to me and I won't notice and carry on like they haven't gone.

Me to. I have to say, whilst in the bath i find it so replaxing and my muscels just relase so it really would be hard to tell.

But then again. I think you might feel a sense of release from down below and also th colour of the waters may go cloudy/merky and a it bloody as you could have a bit of bloody discharge come away when they go i guess?
xx

that sounds like i pee in the bath - correction i don't

I was thinking about this while I was in the bath last night! Also what if your waters break while you're having a good wee? How will you tell then?

When you get a gush of waters coming out, you'll feel it even when in the bath, your stomach will noticably go down, you can get pre-waters that can feel like pee, but when your main waters go, you'll know about it. Its also really warm when your waters break so you should feel the warm water around you.

I'd say stick to baths without bubbles if your worried at least you'll be able to see if anything comes out.

:)

Agreed ^^ it's always warm and you will know about it because there is always lots too, everytime mine has gone it's always went on for ages, even though with my last one I had a huge gush and filled up the toilet with them to the top and I was still leaking when I got to the hospital :oooo:

When I lost my first baby, my membranes ruptured while I was in the bath but they continued to trickle out for ages afterwards too - I had to wear a pad. I was only about 14 weeks then and there was still quite a lot of water so I can ony imagine if they went at full term in the bath you most definitely know about it!!

I *think* mine went in the bath with my 2nd, but I genuinely don't know! That said, I was in the full
Throngs of labour so I wasn't really paying attention! I was more concerned about getting
Out the bath before I delivered! They defo didn't go after that so it was either in the bath or I'd had a slow leak!

i had my baby in a pool last saturday, my back waters had already gone just walking. my main waters went in the pool, it literally made a pop noise and the force jolted me forward. My husband was sat on the side of the pool and felt it. From then on the pains came worse and faster x

You'll defo feel it.. Even if it's just a trickle.. And it would continue to leak afterwards.. Don't worry Hun keep enjoying your baths :)

Thanks ladies, you have helped put my mind at ease a bit. I am a bit of a worrier when it comes to all things pregnancy and labour and this one had me really worried :D.

I shall now go back to enjoying my baths and relaxing in them.
