i'm planning to breastfeed but do i need bottles and bottle-equipment for water? or do babies get enough water from milk?

If you are breast feeding then you should not give them water (until they are onto solids). However it is worth having a few bottles as it gives you (or more likely your OH ) the option of giving them expresed breast milk. I use the Tommee Tippee Closer to nature bottles and Ellie happily switched between these and the breast. I tried some mothercare self sterilising ones and she had real trouble with these the teats are too narrow.
