Hi ladies....eeeee this parenting lark is more stressful than i thought. Last night around 9pm Oliver took a good feed...then started crying madley soothing him and burping him didnt help. After about 15 mins he went from crying and red to white and floppy within 3 seconds..i tapped him, tickled him and he didnt come round..eventually after about 20 seconds or so he stirred and started fussing again. Straight on phone to delivery suite...as i was on the phone he had a massive projectile vomit. Ok straight to a n e. Still screaming the doc fed him, took his vitals all fine. So he was diogosed with having a Vagal Response to tummy ache and reflux causing him to faint!!!! I was so scared.....apparnatly it isnt dangerous and most babies bring themselves round no problem. But im PETRIFIED. Im litrally scared to feed him now incase it happens again (i am feeding dont worry) but im petrifeid with each mouthful. Hes also started gulping his bottles and protesting to been burped. Anyone experainced this before and is there anything i can do to reduce the vomiting and prevent the Vagal response again....please help me im so so so scared. His little gums when he cries are so sweet and make me giggle...my poor angel i love him more than anything. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

OMG how frightening for you! I dont have any advice sorry but had to give you a  xx

Hey Hun how scary for you, but kind of get how you feel a little bit just last night Madison started crying in her sleep and really panicking she had clear liquid and bubbles coming out of her mouth and she was gulping for air, that's when I started to panic!! :) took her to gp this morning but he said coz it's only happened the once he couldn't really diagnose reflux!! Very very frightening, now she won't hardly touch her bottles and is very very sleepy, poor little mite xxxx

That sounds really scary. Hope you and Oliver are having a more relaxing day. xxxxx

Did you have an assisted delivery with forceps or ventouse? i remember my MW going on about vagal (sp) reflex when my son was colicky....something to do with the nerve being irritated by a traumatic birth. she never did give me that study to read lol

hope lil one feels better soon and you get some relaxation time xxx

Oh hon, how scary. No experience of this but glad it's something that could be explained x x x

No he was delivered by c section. Probably the reason why :eh: Hes been awake since 3pm...very restless and fussy. Be glad when midwife comes tomozz xxx

bless him i hope he is ok. i would be terrified too if i were you, well done for being so calm and fantastic about it! hope you solve the reflux thing xx

Sounds so scary :( Are you on the slowest flow teat you can get so that he has to work a bit for the milk and doesn't gulp so much and take in loads of air? My two both struggled to keep up with my milk at first and used to choke/gulp/swallow loads of air but after about a week got better at dealing with it and things are a lot easier so I'm sure it'll be something that hopefully won't affect him for too long. Can you ask someone about giving him gripe water and/or gaviscon to reduce the pain he's in from reflux/wind and make him a bit more comfortable? x x

the exact same thing happened to us lovelt> josh was being irritable all day gve him a feed got him ready for bedd amd then went floppy and unresponsive. ended up in hhosp for a week and was told its reflux. had a section as well. we got gaviscon prescribed and was tolod to keep check of his food and make sure we monitor how much he eats so as to not overfeed him.

pm if you want
xxx

Oh hun, what a scary time for you , I would ask the doc's more questions so you can feel more helpful when he has a problem. Good job you got it checked out so quickly when your mothers instinct kicked in - well done
