WARNING,stupid question

here we go..is there another scan after the 20 weeks one ? I've checked my notes and the booklets my midwife gave me but there is no mention of any other scan (other than in case of complications in pregnancy)..I thought there would be one more.. I told you it was a stupid question !

Ha, dont worry about stupid questions! You dont get another one as far as im aware, unless you need them further on - you only have your dating scan at 12 weeks, and then your anomoly scan at 20 weeks - then thats it!
At my 20wk scan, I had to pick up all the info for the ward and visiting times, coz I thought I may not end up back here again!

Not stupid at all. In fact when I was at my scan yesterday this is what I was told. No scan after 20wks unless your doc believes the baby is breach and you have had a prior C-section. Unfortunately, for me I fall in both categories! LOL!

all depends on how your pregnancy progresses but no there isnt another routine 1 done

It'd be nice to have one at 30 weeks to see how much more detailed it is! I do remember looking back at the monitor after our 20 week scan and thinking "thats it til he's here" I actually felt a bit sad! lol x

Nope, that's it I'm afraid - unless you have complications like me (low placenta) or need growth scans. I know it's weird to think that's it for another 20 weeks until the birth! I've actually had 2 extra scans and have another coming up but because they are busy looking at my placenta I haven't even seen the screen to see my little one xxx

Hey wookie; I understand there is no other scan unless necassary chick, but they do check heart beat, urine and bloods if necassary when you go for your midwife appointments.. it is not a stupid question, I only found out for sure about three weeks ago... oh just felt baby wiggle!!

Think it may depend on your hospital?
After mc last time I've had scans at 7, 12, 14, 18 and 20 weeks (12 and 20 being routine) but I've got one booked for 28 weeks too and my consultant said it was just a routine scan to check growth and position, There's no concerns over Bomp at all.. my measurements etc are all fine and I've not had a breech or c-section.. so maybe it's down to diff hospitals or perhaps I'm getting an extra one becasue they all know how neurotic I am xx

My mw has told me that i will need to bring a urine sample to every appointment. And from what i can remember from when i had my first 9 years ago they check the heartbeat and feel around the belly for baby (dont quote me on that one as my memory is not that clear)
I dont remember any more blood tests and hoping there is no more as everyone struggles to get blood out of me

same here....they told me it was literally easier to get blood out of a stone. but because of everything that happened to me last weekend, with the mc....i have had more blood taken than i care to think about!!! i am a bloody expert now...ask them to use a blue butterfly needle....genuis thing.....they got it first time, everytime with these babies! xx
