porscia has slept trhough the nite since she was about 7 weeks old..i started weaning her last month...and for the past couple of nites she has woke up around 4am instead of sleeping through til 7am... i was wondering if this is normal and if there is a nite time feed someone can recommend that fills their tums a bit more

thank

One of the Mum's at the new parent group I go to run by HV said exactly the same yesterday!

Her baby is 5 and half months. HV told her to hold off on weaning him for a bit as it might have upset his system?! (My HV is shite though, and that advice sounded a bit rubbish to me, I don't overly understand how going back to just milk would help?)

I'll let you know how she is getting on by next week, and if she's found any answers to it!

I actually agree with this. It possibly could be that baby is just not quite ready yet and happy just on milk.

My DD woke once or twice night for a breastfeed from 4 to 7 months. I started giving her two course at each meal at 7 months (breakfast = porridge AND toast; lunch = sandwiches AND yoghurt; tea = h/m main meal AND fruit puree or fruit etc etc) which had the immediate effect of helping her sleep through the night again from 7 months to now and I don't think she's woken once since (seriously). However, she was 7 months old and that little bit further on.

ican't see it being thatshe isn't happy on solids.. she loves her food.. she has porridge and milk for breakfast... pears withcinammon and milk for lunch.. and carrot and swwet potato with milk for tea..she then has two full bottles after that before bed... its only been the last couple of nites she woke early... i was just wondering if she is just getting hungry in the nite again and needs a different formula to help fill her tummy more.. like hipp organic nite time feed??????

Lily is exactly the same :( She has had solids for the last 5weeks and it has never effected her and all of a sudden she keeps waking up between 3-5am :( I know people have ALOT worse but when she has slept 12hrs solid from 6 weeks to suddenly being up in the middle of night OMG is it a shock to the system. I feel like Ive got a newborn again

I'll let her off this once then :rotfl:

She generally is shite though, changes her mind from one week to the next. I don't think I'd trust anything she tells me :talkhand:
