Waiting to see if I still have a job! :-(

We got told yesterday morning that the team I work in is being down sized from 10 people (9 full time and one part time) to 4 full time posts as part of our companies restructure.
I was aware that changes were expected but the number of people they have to make redundant shocked me. We are going through the consultation period at the moment so just have to wait and see. Get told Friday what our fate may be and although i am confident that I do a good job, so do many of my colleagues so it is anyone's guess what the outcome will be.

I know that they will judge me fairly against my colleagues and my pregnancy, although a factor, will not be considered when making the decision (either be it in my favour or against me) but I am really worried what happens if i am at risk. It's not like I can just go get another job now!

Feel sick, achey, IBS has flared up and just want to cry all the time. Trying to stay positive but it is so scary having your career in someone elses hands. Can't do anything until Friday though (luckily don't have to go into work though while the process is happening).

Its just all Rubbish!

That's a horrible situation to be in, I'm not really sure what I can say except I hope it works out well for you. This is easy for me to say but try not to worry yourself too much, just enjoy your couple of days off as much as you can. Fingers crossed for you and let us know how it goes xx

Have they advised on redundancy package just in case? Hope you don't have to accept that but I would need to know what I am entitled to.

Someone gave me good advice only a few months ago. She said when it feels like its the end of the world, it's not, it's just the start of something new. Fate and all that has a funny way of working out. It's totally shit what they are doing but if it's possible, look for the positives and look upon this as a time of change for you, Tim and baby peapod. Sending lots of love.
