My job is being transferred to another company, unfortunately this is going to happen when i am on my maternity leave. They did say originally that there might be some chances to take voluntary redundancy although noone has been offered it yet.

If i was to ask about this and they did offer it to me, would i be able to get some kind of maternity pay from the social for not being able to work? and how much would it be?

This would all depend on what redundancy package your employer gave you. for example if you were to receive your actual maternity pay as part of your redundancy package then no you may not be entiltled to benefit for the period your maternity pay covered. Your best bet would be to find out what redundancy package you may be offered and then contact the benefits office,
