am i right in thinking vitamin A isnt any good for you during pg?

ive been drinking tropicana multivitamins and looked on the back last night and noticed its got vitamin a in it. are we allowed any or totally forbidden? :think:

I don't think it's totally forbidden as some foods etc may contain it. But I think you should avoid it if possible.

Use of vitamin A in pregnancy

A note on the use of vitamin A during pregnancy. The Department of Health recommends that pregnant women or those seeking to get pregnant should not take more than 2,664iu (800ug) of vitamin A daily. However, this does not apply to vitamin A found in beta carotene

If you want to take vits take one specailly designed for pregnancy.
 
I take Pregnacare, they're really good.

But you can get Tesco's own or other brands that are Pregnancy related, that way you only get the vitamins that you need.

oh yeah am taking pregacare already, just coz i noticed on the pack that the juice had quite alot of vit a in it and it got me wondering... :think: it was really nice too :|
