Hiya i woud just like to know when is your baby considered viable?. Don't know why i'm so interested all of a sudden i think i'm getting a bit morbid and thinking 'hmm what would happen if i was to give birth now?' Does any of you know at how many weeks was the eariest baby born and survived..and weights etc. thanx xx

24 weeks is considered viable! :cheer: Which means your little man has passed that important stage now :D

Congrats on hitting 24 weeks! xx

funny i was thinking the same thing. dont think ill stop worrying this whole pregnancy, but im sure im just the same as everyone else.

I don't think the worry gets any easier  I'm a huge worry worry anyway, so I've learned to just try to think that every new week I hit is a better chance of baby being ok.

xx

viable like the others have said is 24 weeks... at 23 weeks the baby has a 16% chance of survival if born but at 24 weeks this jumps to 44% :D we are 24 weeks tomorrow & i cant wait! Then onto the midwife on monday to get my matb1 for work

I think the earliest someone has given birth to a child and the LO survived is 22 weeks. The baby was tiny weighing 10oz (?).

How weird, I've recently been thinking what would happen if I went into early labour now and wondering how big he would be etc. Very scary stuff, let's hope all our bubs stay in the oven for a while longer eh ;)

Yeah the tickers on here make me feel better... they say things like "I'm nearly 2lbs in weight"
so it makes me feel better that bubs is gaining weight...
