very light bleeding

im 4months pregnant, and have had a very healthy pregnancy so far - not even morningsickness. Last night i went the loo and spotted my discharge was slightly a different colour. There was deffinatly a slight pink. I started to panic and i phoned a midwife at the hospital. She told me to put a pad on and ring back after half an hour to say how much i was bleeding. I never bled agin till a few hours later. This time it was very very waterd down brownish color. (im really sorry if this this is tmi)
I didnt ring the midwife back as i felt awful (i really bad cold came on last night) and i just wanted to sleep. Ive woke this morning with no blood... but havent been very active (im sitting in bed still feeling horrid with just cold symptoms) - im sceard case i carry on bleeding if i move around. I dont really know what to do. I also have a job interview in a few hours - but dont feel up to anything
im so sceard somthings wrong.

I would call your m/w back if you feel concerned.

She may be bale to put your mind at rest or give you alternative advise

I had this about 2 weeks ago and its terrifying - BUT i went to the doctors and then to the hospital and got checked out and they said 'its just one of those things'
What I think caused my slight bleed is i've been doing gardening & lots of housework which could have caused a slight bleed overnight which is what caused the brownish discharge in the morning.
I also bleed when me and the o/h have sex as he disturbs my cervix

By all means go and get checked out for peace of mind - but i'm sure you have nothing to worry about

Hey chick call the mw if you need to put your mind at ease........also, brown blood is old blood, so not as worrisome as red blood which is fresh blood.

Had you had BD with your OH earlier in the day or before the bleed? This can be a cause of bleeding, or as kat said, anything tooo excessive like lots of housework etc.

Hope you are feeling okay babes, stay under the duvet if you can get away with it, sleep is a great help for anything

sadly i have been one of the unlucky one's in the past where things didn't work out so i'm naturally a worrier on this subject and don't want to worry you further but please do give MW another call......it's horrible worrying and it won't do you any good.

there are plenty of natural reasons why this happens and most of the time it's fine....i'm sure you'll be OK. Most people I know have bleeding and it's been fine

aww thanks loads everyone for the advice. I ended up not calling the midwife. I told myself that after my job interview (4pmish) if theres any blood ill go straight the hospital. By 4 there still haddnt been any, and now there isnt - my discharge is totally normal.
I have an oppointment to see my midwife on wednesday - so if theres no bleeding tomoz ill just make sure my midwife knows about the incident and see what she thinks. My instinct now is that everythings ok. (even tho i start doubting that when i say it in my mind!! lol)

Ill keep you updated - and if i do show again, im deffo straight the hospital - it was just the smallest about EVER and nothings happened for 24hrs now.

p.s. - hadnt really done anything physical to cause it that i can think of, and i hadnt been intimate with OH for a few days.

Glad to hear you're feeling better ....bleeding happens in a lot of pg, make sure you def mention it to your mw tho, as they need to know about these things.....good luck following your interview too

*update*

Everythings fine!! i went to see the midwife (my local one) and she took my blood presure and used a doppler to hear the babys heart beat - was the first time i heard it! it was so loud and strong - even the midwife said it was VERY strong for 16-17wks. he was moving around lots too. everything seems all good and fine - she says that it might have just been one of those things or that it may have come from my bladder as i have symptoms of a bladder infection.

it happened again last night. Smallest amount (and brownish) again, but deffo not from my bladder. Anyone know what it could be that causes you to bleed like once a week? is there any tests they can do to see why this happneds? - ill ring my midwife again i think tomoz.
