Well my book says that you're viability date is from your 24th week, which I am now in - what a relief :yay:
I feel like it's another milestone (like 12 weeks) reached.
Hurray for Thumper!
x

oh good to know! I was wondering when this could be...

Yay, well done buddy :)

Please don't get upset, but I thought it was after you are 24 weeks as thats when you are classed as having a viable pregnancy by the medical professionals i.e. when they would intervein if you gave birth prematurely etc. I need to go to my GP after I'm 24 weeks when they will give me some form but I've been told to make sure it's definitely AFTER 24 weeks as thats when I'm classed as really being pregnant!!

I was just googling to find out more about viability dates as didn't know what it was. Found this thread, look about 5 posts down. Theres an amazing post by a woman who had her baby at 24 weeks!!! She is absolutely fine and she'll now be 9 years old. Isn't that incredible? I cannot imagine having my baby this week, its amazing to think they are still baking in there but if they were to appear they can survive. Wow.

Am sat here with tears running down my face.

Happy V Day!!! when I hit 24 weeks I googled 24 week prem babies and whilst some of it is pretty upsetting some of the pics were amazing they really are properly formed babies just ever so tiny, it really amazed me that my little bubs actually looks like that in my tummy as I keep thinking he is still just a little bean!!!!!

Happy V-day!! I felt like it was a big milestone too :) xxx

Yay - happy V day. A few months ago they had the programme on TV called 23 week babies and it was all about how some countries 23 weeks they wont intervene at all. Here 24 weeks is good news, if baby goes prem they will do all they can to help! Another milestone reached YAY!!

No, no, hun I would never get upset! Yeah this is what's confusing cos technically your 24th week starts at 23 weeks so by next Sat I will have completed the 24 weeks and start my 25th week. Cos if you think about it, you start at zero but it's your first week - I am so rubbish at explaining stuff lol!

xx

yeah, i think ur right sunny, ur 24th week starts once ur 23 weeks :)

on an iphone app i have it says my date every day and u can look at 'the weeks symptoms' and when i'm 13 weeks, it gives me the symptoms for week 14 xx

I hadn't heard of that either! I want to get to week 24 asap!

Happy week 24! xxx

Awww thanks everyone! Such a relief - not the ideal thing to happen but at least you know bubs would have a shot! x
