Hi ladies, I've been ttc for over 2 years and only had 1 bfp which ended in mc. I have used opk's for around a year but not very regularly so not much point! Ive never had a clear positive result, a number of weak lines but that's all.
This month I'm on a mission!! I've had very faint lines the last couple of days. Today is cd14 of a 28-30 day cycle. The line is about half the strength of the control line so still not positive but I have the ewcm and I checked my cervix and for the first time ever (I don't check often though) I noticed it felt very open. We bd'd last night and also Sunday but I don't think I've missed it yet.
Just wondered if anyone has ever ov'd and/or conceived and still never had a strong positive opk? It may be I get a strong line tomorrow (only time will tell) but if I don't get one I wonder if that means I haven't ov'd at all?
Also, when is the best time to bd? We aren't at home together much due to different shift patterns so say I do ov tomorrow, would we need to bd quickly within 24 hours to stand a chance? Or would last nights bd stand a good chance of hitting the spot?! I'll try to bd at the weekend anyway to be on the safe side, just wondered how it works with lines and timing!! X

I found with my last cycle I had EWCM CD 17, 18, 19 + had faint lines on my OPKS between CD10-18 then all of sudden on CD19 literally went dark, felt like all of a sudden really then literally next day CM was dry + OPKs went back faint again... what I tend to do when I get to CD14 i start using OPKs twice / day - so keep checking & hopefully over the next few days you should get a positive..keep us informed! I really enkjoy using OPKs I only used them randomly on and off for the first 6 months of TTC but now I use them reguarly + I always getting really excited when I get a darker line :) x

Yeah I've stocked up and am doing them before and after work. I feel more positive this month, don't know why, will probably get the usual disappointment at af time but something just feels good at the mo for some reason! X

I always feel that when you TTC in a different way e.g. going from NTNP to using OPKs or charting or even vice versa it seems to bring with it a whole heap of new positivity and excitement :) so my plan is to keep using OPKs/charting while im still enjoying it and feel relaxed then if im still in the same boat maybe by xmas I will try something else :) good luck with your new TTC regime hehe x

Ooh had a positive opk this morning and just now so the bd is on tonight!!! ;) as long as I can stay awake til OH gets home! Never had a dark one before so was very excited this morning. I guess as I didn't use the opk's as regularly before I just kept missing the date. A bfp this cycle would be amazing. My oh has been getting really depressed about out mc in may and I've had my dark days. I just wanna be pregnant again! X

Ahh bless your OH feeling down :( but its good your looking forward to the future and all the good happy times to come.. & YAY to the positive OPKS!! really hope this month is your BFP month! xx

Helps to hear others feeling the same...I haven't used them properly either but am too on a mission this month and will test every day as determines to see clear evidence I can actually ovulate!! Good luck and let us know how you get on xx

Ooh good luck maggiemay!! I'm off to bed now... Nod, nod, wink, wink! Hoping for a home run! ;) x

hehe... remember when you get a positive OPK its always good to try and BD same day + the day after i.e. today if you can because egg is released 24-48 hours after your positive OPK x

Ooh I'll tell OH...he'll be thrilled, lol! He's already moaning about having to perform and how his knees are hurting!! Ha ha! Getting too old for all this action..... ;) x

Hmm... Done 2 opk's today (am and pm, same as yesterday) and they're both still strong positives. So I've had positives for 48 hours. Is it likely the egg is released 24-48 hours from the first test or the last test?! How confusing...! X

Yeah I have heard some others on here saying they had positives 3 days in a row (mine is usually for half a day) - at least during future cycles (if there are any!!) you will save some pennies on your OPKs because you wont need to use them every day hehe.... In terms of determining which indicates the release of an egg its not really possible to say because OPKs detect the chemical that is released around the time of OV therefore it could be day 1 or day 3.. but at least you know that chemical is in your system and very strong so likely to be ovulating.. just keep BD'in as much as you can... is the test line darker today or yesterday? can you post pics? xx

Don't think I can post pics on phone but line looked pretty much the same to me each time. Same/maybe even a bit darker than control line. X

Still positive this morning...! Gonna bd again today hopefully but currently suffering with a hangover as I had a few too many last night for my sis-in-laws 30th! Been ages since I had a drink and its really knocked me for six! Bleurgh >.<

Still had a positive yesterday morning (the 4th day!) but started getting weaker in the evening. I read online if it goes on for a few days it could be because the egg is struggling to be released. Hope it came out eventually! Couldn't bd yesterday as I had to go out all evening. Would do it tonight but OH is working til really late. Ugh!! So just have to hope the ones we did on OV day 1 and 3 are enough! X

:o 4th day of positive's woosa... yeah I have heard that too ^^^ you can always try continuing with the OPKs even after they fade because if the egg has struggled to be released it may try again later on in your cycle so the positives may re-appear & then you'll know when to BD again, but as you say - heres hoping the struggle is over and the little egg is on its way to meet its friends already hehe xx
