Used a mooncup for the first time this month (slightly TMI)

This whole conversation is giving me a dull ache in the pit of my uterus.

I have a mooncup its brilliant, bought it at Glastonbury festival. I did find it leaked at first but as Debecca said its just a case of trimming the stem down and getting used to it, I think I pushed it too far up so there was no suction so it leaked.

Its really comfortable and I hardly notice I'm wearing it.

Its envirtonmentally friendly and I don't have to pay money on tampons every month :cheer:

I love my mooncup!
I have crazy periods! I go from spotting to filling the largest size of tampon in an hour or 2 and them pretty much go down a tampon size each day. But with the mooncup I just need the one regardless of how heavy it is! And I can go longer before needing to empty it.

As long as I remember to twist it round (that sounds weird but you know what I mean if you have one because it's in the instructions) it doesn't leak for me until it is at the point of overflowing - I know I should empty long before that but sometimes I forget

I wouldn't bother taking a bottle of water to the loo to rinse it - just use loo roll to wipe it after you've poured the blood out.

It's really comfy - you don't feel it. The first time I wore it it was uncomfortable so I cut more off the stem (you don't need the stem, just cut it off) and then it was fine.

It's really interesting to know how much I bleed to  70ml in the first 24 hours!!! That's how much your supposed to lose over the whole period!

For those who are thinking of getting one, they sit lower than a tampon and they are significantly wider. They are not solid like a tampon though and they are made of squishy silicon so they are easy to put in and comfortable to wear - you don't feel them. I find them easier to put in than tampons. It also means that if you're round at a friend's for example you don't need to take out a tampon or take your bag to the loo with you. And you don't need to try and work out complicated maths for going on holiday either.
