I really like it. It is so much cleaner, less messy and there seems less blood than what you imagine there to be, especially for a heavy bleader like me.

Im also fascinated by what comes out  :puke: :shhh:

I have only used if for thr first 3 days because I feel really bruised. Is this normal and does it ease in time? I really hope so

Oooh I was going to try one of those but then I got pregnant. I am definitely going to give it a go after the baby arrives. I have had it recommended to me by online friends, they never mentioned anything about bruising though, maybe it takes some getting used to.

I was thinking about getting one of those. I don't know about the bruising though but i think a few girls on here use them. I sure i've seen a post about them before

also :) lol.. just to big up our members shops paradysso is selling these in a few months/weeks :) im interested in trying as i use cloth sanitary protection.

The Mooncup is available in two sizes.
Size A measures 46mm in diameter and 50mm in length.

Size B measures 43 mm in diameter and 50mm in length.

Both sizes have a pull stem 21mm long, which you can trim to the length that is right for you.

Size A is recommended for women who have given birth vaginally or who have had a caesarean section and are aged 30 or above.

Size B is recommended for women who have not given birth or who have had a caesarean section and are aged below 30.

Please ensure that you select the correct size. For hygiene reasons we cannot exchange Mooncups once they have been dispatched.

That's a nice way of saying women who have given birth vaginally have wide fannys! :rotfl:

I don't like the whole idea of it personally... will stick to tampax.

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

I cant use tampons cos of the episotomy I had done, midwife cut me too much so they dont stay in

Will stick to pads

bless, you wee soul, thats a shame.

Im not sure if I fancy a moon cup. What if it got lost

I had a moon cup and while they are fab, I found mine would leak during the most heavy days of my period and I'd have to wear pads too.. thus denying the whole point of having an environmentally friendly sanitary product  And they do take a little while to get used to in the fanny area :rotfl:

As for towels... thanks to pregnancy and birth it has reignited my loathing for sanitary towels of any kinds... and reusable towels... just ewwww :puke:

I am also a "flooder" and I lurve my Mooncup :cheer: :shhh:

I have been using it for 3 years now so NO expenditure on sanitary products in that time whatsoever (however, I will of course have to upgrade to the 'bucketfanny' version when I've given birth).

The first few periods it takes a while to get used to. I trimmed the 'stem' right off because that was easier for me to get it in and out - and it also reduces the risk of leakage as it's not rubbing on your kecks.

I love it love it love it. Never leak now :cheer:

Thats makes me feel wonderful... thanks... considering I have the bucket fanny version and it leaks... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It says you have to empty and rinse it out every 4-6 hours. What if i'm out for the day? I can't exactly go in to the supermarket toilet and wash it out in the sink :puke: How do you manage to rinse it out if you arn't at home? Also can you feel it when it's in?

I just answered my own question by going on to the website :rotfl: I'm so clumsy though I would probably end up covered in blood :rotfl: I might try one though

Public toilets

Dear Cathy,
How do you use the Mooncup in public toilets?

Cheers,
Helen

Dear Helen
You can still use your Mooncup in Public toilets. Simply take a small bottle
of water into the toilet with you and rinse it with this. Alternatively you
can wipe with toilet paper and give your Mooncup a thorough clean at a more convenient time.

Best Wishes
Cathy

How far........up, do they need to go?

Apparently not as far as a tampon.....I think I might try one too!!

Actually they sit lower than tampons, low down in the vagina *cringes at the word vagina*

You can get it out with your fingers where as you need a string with a tampon :)

ooooooooooo no not for me
nothings EVER going up there again :shakehead: :shakehead: :shakehead:
