Unsure how far gone I am?

Hi!
So yesterday I was 4 days late on my period, I did a cheap tea I test & before the urine even got through the first box completely there was a very dark blue line! So I did another, same happened again.. so I did 2 clear blue digital & it says pregnant 3+.. which according to the packet it’s roughly 5 weeks (last period would make me 4weeks 5 days) BUT, my last period was very light & I read (unsure if it’s true..) the darker the line the more hormone? So is there chance I could be further then almost 5 weeks? I haven’t managed to see the doctor yet as it was Saturday, I’m going tomorrow.

So symptoms -

Last period 4th - 8th July (very light)
Unprotected - Friday 13th 🙈 & 17th
Symptoms - breasts hurting from 21st.. & from 22nd my wee smelt like popcorn 🙈

As you can probably tell this is my first pregnancy and I’ve no idea if this is normal for my estimated time?

I was in the same situation with my first (although I had no idea of last period!). I ended up going for a scan and found I was 7 weeks! My line also came up straight away and very strong. Your last period could have in fact been implantation bleeding rather than a period.

That’s what I was thinking.
I suffer quite bad with anxiety, so I’m hoping the doctors knowing my previous history with that they’ll possibly scan me early for my peace of mind? X

They don't often do early scans in the UK, regardless of anxiety because it's "not medically necessary". They may offer a blood testto check your hormone levels though. It really depends on the doctor.

So you're either nearly 5 weeks or nearly 9 weeks. I'd guess 5 because you did have a bleed and tbh there's no way I wouldn't have known at 9 weeks, I was SO sick, as many women are. If you were nearly 5 weeks then the line should be pretty dark and would normally come up straight away, plus a clearblue can easily read 3+ by then, so that's not much help I'm afraid! If doc won't help you, you can pay for a private scan and they'll tell you. Congratulations on the pregnancy x

Yeah i think I’m more so 5weeks to be honest, it’s just because my boobies starter hurting within a few days of predicted ovulation..

The way I need to think is, there’s no pain, only slight cramping, my boobies hurt, there’s a strong pregnancy line on the test & I’m not bleeding - so I’m ok! Babies ok!

I just need to stay calm and In that mind frame, anxiety can ruin someone and I refuse for it to stress me out during the pregnancy, it would just be easier to know for sure via scan I guess. I think private is around £100? X

I didn't know how many weeks I was either - the test came up saying 3+. I booked in with my GP the following week, she referred me for a scan. I had a letter with a scan appointment 4 weeks later.... the scan showed I was 11 weeks 4 days, so I must have been six weeks ish when I did the test.

I would book in with your GP so they can get you referred for a scan. It might not be straight away, but if you go for the scan and your early on, you'll be invited back at the correct time. Or if you're desperate to know now, book an early private scan.

Well I think I’m 5 weeks, so no point just yet, but it’s defo something I’m thinking of just for peace of mind x

Just found a place near me that do scans from 6 weeks, I think I’m going to aim for 7 weeks before I do the early scan, it’s only £55 so I think it’s worth it!

I got my positive at 3 weeks 3 days. I'm always shocked when people don't know until 6 weeks plus haha. It'd be great though. Tri 1 being half over before you even know...

Aim for 7 weeks or later for your scan. At 7 weeks you should see a heartbeat

My manager at work didn’t know she was pregnant until 9 weeks �� lol!

I’m very excited to see the baby, I think once I see a heartbeat it’ll relax me..

It’s horrible having anxiety at the best of times, let alone when I’m pregnant.. I just need reassurance all the time which is annoying x
